A 16-foot Buddha, which floats above a reflecting pool filled with Japanese carp, presides over the scene at Tao. A favorite destination for celebrities and athletes, this Pan Asian restaurant specializes in authentic Hong Kong Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisines. Tao has three levels of dining including the prized "Skybox" which offers views of this former movie theater unparalleled in New York. In addition to its 300 seats, Tao includes a sushi bar, lounge and two bars at which to enjoy the food and the show. Appetizers range from $8 - $18; Entrees: $16 -$39.     we were not sat in any of the two main dining areas as the website indicates instead they took us up to a third room, which was basically the attic of the restaurant, with no view, and the service was absolutely horrible, and by the time we received our food, it was very room temperature, because we were at the very top of the ceiling. We had the air-conditioning vents blowing on us that it made it just extremely uncomfortable, I cannot believe that the restaurant would, sadly even offered to sit people up in this one secluded room, unless they absolutely asked to be, we had made reservations, and therefore, I feel that we should’ve probably had priority to sit in the main restaurant versus people who walked in

    Vibe super fun. However I booked a reservation 6 weeks in advance for a weekend trip. We were sat on the third floor with no view at all- felt completely removed from the restaurant. We checked in were told to sit in lounge area- then they call me looking to see if I was coming. It appeared the hostess seating us took the wrong party with her to a table right in front of my husband who was waiting and then when they realized it they took us to the third floor where they have 6 tables and no view. Not happy

    Food was great. Phenomenal actually. But service was mid. We changed our mind on a meal 3 min after ordering and we received attitude many times about this. Besides that. Good place

    Made a reservation far in advanced and was so excited . We were sat in an awkward make shift seat where you couldn’t see anything next to the waitress station. They kept putting a tray of dirty dishes less than 3 feet from me and then other wait staff would attempt to squeeze thru the remaining space and bang into my chair. It happened at least 15 times without a single apology . If you are going to take reservations make sure your staff can perform their jobs without disrupting diners at the “special makeshift” table . Food did not hold a candle to Las Vegas or Chicago Tao .

    Very crowded - almost chaotic in reception and bar area. Took 35 minutes to get seats. Can be improved a lot. But once seated, we were impressed by high efficiency of order taking and quick delivery, courteous staff checking often about food etc. Recommend you to dine here.

    Booked table and arrived in the 15 min grace period after booking time. Table already given away - restaurant was chaos - had to wait nearly an hour for a table. Were told different reasons but reception. Would never go back
