   Always a pleasurable experience at this little chef-owned taverna. Classic homestyle Greek dishes, local ingredients, delightful Greek wines, and a cozy vibe.

   This was our second excursion to Brunswick to visit Taverna Khione. While all of the food we tried was inspirational and uses locally sourced ingredients, the taste was not quite there for all of the dishes we tried. Excellent grilled kalamari and katsikaki with trahanas for example, accompanied by a good beef stew with figs. But we did find the pickled mullet and lamb meatballs lacking or not to our taste. The dips were well prepared and were presented with an excellent bread, but they would have gone far better with some pita bread, while the great bread would have made a nice table intro with some Greek EVOO. The kydonia (quince) dessert was amazing.

   The restaurant is great! Recommend making the reservation by calling though. At the restaurants discretion they can charge you no show fees to your opentable based reservations and opentable cannot rectify false charges, only the restaurant — even if you attend your own reservation. Bad business.

   One of the best meals you will find in Brunswick. Highly recommend! Walkable from all the hotels in Brunswick located close to Maine St. Reservations needed as chef is a one man show at this lovely cozy spot.

   I can’t believe this wasn’t on my radar. I’ve lived adjacent to Brunswick for over six years and only recently heard about this place. It was easily the best meal I’ve had in the area. I am a chef and although I’m not overly critical when I dine out, I am often not overly impressed either. Taverna exceeded my expectations and we will definitely be back.

    This is a special place off the main street of Brunswick perfect for a date or a small gathering. It's like being in a Greek friend's kitchen. I went three times this summer and each meal with wonderful. Don't miss the zucchini fritters. The wine selection is unique and delicious. Everything is super fresh. Make a reservation and head over!!
