Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

Rarely leave reviews. Honest opinion is that this place doesn’t worth a hype that was created around it where you have to book a table really in advance. Was put at one of the tables too close to the bar and to the reception. Had a feeling that we were sitting at the reception table with a beautiful view on the butts that were standing by the bar. If they really want utilize those tables by the bar, bar should be available per reservation only and no standing by the bar, otherwise like I said you’re just eating very close to someone’s butt and basically those people’s saliva is flying around your table all the time they try to talk. Per our request to change the table, service personnel worked really well and changes our table. Service personnel was very kind and helpful that’s why they are getting a very good rank. The food was good, although my pasta was not aldente and my cheesecake was as dry as cracker. That’s why food experience is getting only 3 stars.

I want to love Taverna. But they always, and I mean always, overcook the Branzino. And they undercook the vegetables. the server is the same server we’ve had for years and he seems a little arrogant and impersonal. I give up. I will not be going back.

We were celebrating a birthday and so enjoyed the food, wine, and good service. The Bolognese was great, excellent salad, and the complimentary chocolate cake, split by us all, was yummy!

The waitstaff was very attention - shoutout Jeremy! The rose’ was delightful. We had the Taverna Focaccia- delish! We also had the Fritto Misto - I’ve had better. For the mains we had ravioli carbonara, saffron and sausage risotto and gnocchi with short rib ragu. Everything needed a touch of salt but that’s personal preference. The risotto and gnocchi dishes were delicious that being said they both should have more meat in them. The carbonara was very good as well. All in all - I will definitely be back!
