Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Teakwood's dining experience is celebrated for its "amazing Burmese food," flavorful dishes like coconut rice and curry, and "unique" tea leaf salad. The restaurant's friendly service and proximity to SF's cultural venues make it an ideal spot for pre-show meals. While some found service inconsistent, the "delicious" food consistently impresses.

The food is delicious. The prix fixe menu was excellent with crispy fried chicken wings (some of the best we have ever had), BBQ duck and noodles (tasty), and an excellent blueberry lemon tart. The Mophinga was just so so and the piece of fish was small. so the dish was not substantial, mostly noodles and broth. The service is excellent and the atmosphere very nice. We were here for lunch and the noise level was decent.

The food and ambience were both exceptional - one of the best meals we enjoyed on our trip to SF. Made for a special night!

Burma Love sister, I love the salad, fried mushrooms, and green curry! Everything is so flavorful, and the portions are generous. The cocktails are delicious too. I recommend this restaurant. It’s more elegant than Burma Love.

The food was delicious. We lives the roti with the yummy curry dipping sauce, the ginger cabbage salad, and the scallops. My makrut lime spritz was very tasty, but i had to ask the waiter twice to bring it. Service was okay, but needed to be more attentive, as we and many other diners had symphony tickets, so could not linger. Given its proximity to Davies Hall, the opera house and other entertainment venues in the area, Teakwood needs to step up its service before showtime. But the food was terrific, so I’ll likely be back.

Very friendly service but it was busy so it was a tiny bit slow. The food was delicious. I will definitely be back.

The food and service are first rate. However, I ate here a couple of weeks ago and had the scallops. There were 4 scallops- $24. Delicious! Ordered scallops tonight, plus many other dishes, and there were only three for $25. I questioned the waiter and he said- yes the menu is being changed. I understand cutting back but not cutting back and charging more. I probably won’t be back for awhile.

Interesting SE Asian food, Burmese predominant but with flavors from the entire region. We especially enjoyed their fermented tea leaf salad - sounds a little scary but the fermented tea leaves are a touch in the dressing, adding a distinct, unusual and enjoyable funky flavor -, and the pork belly main. Pleasant atmosphere with friendly efficient service. Like its sister restaurants, an excellent bar. Especially good for groups of 4-6 allowing sampling of more dishes. Good value. A perfect spot for an early dinner before a performance at SF Jazz or another Performing Arts Center venue.
