About this restaurant

Terroni Adelaide, formerly the York County Courthouse, is a multi-level heritage structure built in 1852. Just inside the doors is the Enoteca with its towering columns, a great spot for cocktails. Beyond is the main dining room, with a sunlit atrium, fireplaces on each end and private rooms all serviced by an open kitchen where our chefs prepare traditional Italian fare. In summer, the secret garden patio opens for al fresco dining in the heart of the city.

Head down to the Cantina Wine Cellar where you will see the original courthouse cells now used to store our Italian wine. The second floor houses the grand Sala da Pranzo and Bar delle Carceri, named after the cells below. Il Covo degli Artisti, our third-floor space is a cosy lounge once home to The Arts and Letters Club where Canadian landscape painters “The Group of Seven” ate and drank in 1909.

    We had a wonderful evening for my daughters birthday celebration.The service was brilliant, the waiters are all terrific especially the one with all the Marvel/Cartoon tattoos.The meal was delicious and the dessert was fabulous.

    Lovely old building. The wine we ordered wasn’t available which was fine but the waiter took it upon themselves to choose one for us. Thank goodness we asked to see it first because it is not one we would have chosen and more expensive. We chose a different bottle. When I asked to change the pasta to a thinner one which they had on the menu, they said no alterations to the menu. I wasn’t asking for them to change a recipe just the pasta they put the sauce on. We’ve travelled the world and this has never been a problem. I wasn’t asking extremely annoyed and couldn’t wait to get out of there. A $200 dinner rushed through and ruined the mood of the evening. We won’t be back.

    First time at Terroni, and chose the Adelaide location due to the heritage of the building. My friends and I were in town from Ottawa and were really impressed with the experience!

    The food was exceptional, and very authentic. The service was absolutely top notch - probably the most efficient service team I’ve ever encountered. We were sitting beside a man who was talking nonstop and at a very high volume. We couldn’t hear ourselves think. One of the servers noticed it, and moved us one table over, saying it was so we could stretch out a bit more & gave us a little wink. We were so appreciative that he did this so smoothly, and without making the loud person feel uncomfortable. One member of the service team made excellent recommendations for wine. Great experience - we will definitely be back!

    Always a delight to arrive at Terroni Adelaide. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, great atmosphere and exceptionally yummy food. We shared the zucchini blossoms and a pizza. Did not disappoint.

    Food was amazing. The service felt a bit rushed and the ambiance was very loud, we had to shout across the table to hear each other. It was the lunch rush, so perhaps off peak hours are quieter.

    We had to change tables, and they accommodated us quickly and without hesitation. Food was great as was the service! On my short-list of restaurants to go to again.
