You'll find us nestled snugly right on Seatown Beach, hidden along one of the many coves that litter Dorset's famous Jurassic coastline. Once a smugglers haunt, the pub now serves a seasonal menu with a focus on seafood and fresh local produce.

Complete with wood fires and Palmers award winning ales, the pub is the perfect location to refuel after a day on the coastal path or for a special evening meal with friends or family.

My partner and I came here for my birthday meal. We were made to feel welcomed as soon as we got to the top of the drive, we had a table booked for 8pm but were half an hour early. We were asked if we wanted to sit at our table or in the garden, we chose the garden for drinks. The garden has the most spectacular sea views and has a brilliant well stocked bar as well as takeaway pizza options. After we finished our drinks we were directed to our table on the snug area with sea views from the window. Food was incredible and well priced for the quality you receive, vegan options were delicious! My partner said his crab starter and lamb were equally as good. Table service and every member of the team were very friendly and professional from start to finish. Added bonus for us was a newly introduced Rum menu on the table...we tried a couple and they were again amazing! We will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for making my birthday evening one to remember

A unique little pub right by the sea on the Jurassic Coast. Our party of 4 all shared Lyme Bay mussels & scallops followed by fish as mains all were delicious. The service was excellent, cheerful, attentive waiting staff. Looking forward to another visit. Booking is advisable, limited number of indoor tables.

We had booked indoors but when we arrived we asked for outside. Not a problem. That probably sums up our experience…nothing was a problem. Brilliant front of house. Excellent service. Lovely food.

Good, imaginative menu with options for many different palates. Food was beautifully presented, well cooked and tasty. The salt cod fritters in Caribbean sauce and the cod in bisque sauce were outstandingly good. Add a couple of pints of Palmers gold in a beautiful location on the coast and we were very happy 😊 To top it all off, there are great walks along the coastal path. What more do you want?

What a great place. Extremely efficient staff who were very welcoming. Table service which is a good idea as the bar area is small. Clearly a very popular destination pub with great food. Seafood a definite must.

The food and service were excellent. The only thing that detracted from the experience was the lack of car park space with an £8 charge from the car park opposite. Other than that it was good

I could not recommend the Anchor Inn more highly, the food, location and service were excellent. It is on a beautiful, fine shingle beach, parking is easy though expensive for a short visit so spend the day as there is good walking on the cliff paths. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Faultless.
