The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

Our menu changes often and with the seasons. You can always find our current menu on our website www.theaperturecinci.com.

The servers were kind and professional but disorganized- we were asked 3 times in the first ten minutes about water, dietary preferences, and if we had been here before. Additionally, the food came out very slow- the staff apologized multiple times for the long wait between courses. We had quite a bit of the menu and while some of the dishes weren’t worth the price, everything tasted very good. The restaurant itself is cute but very loud.

We were given a table close the the entrance of the room. It was a very cold night and every time someone came in or left a chill ran through our table. We asked to be moved, however were told there was no other table available. The service was fair but not outstanding. The food was excellent. But considering how long we had to wait for a reservation which required a deposit this was not the experience we had looked forward to.

We had a very nice anniversary dinner at Aperture. This was our first visit. The dining room is very open and “modern”. It is fortunately not a noisy environment. We were seated right next to the open kitchen which was fun. Now to the food: we like a restaurant with a limited menu. Better a few great dishes than many mediocre dishes. Aperture has a fairly small menu and it turned out they did them all well. The hummus sampler was outstanding with sone great grilled pita to accompany the hummus. The second section of the menu may be the best. Both carrots (not to be missed) and Hamachi Collar were exceptional. My wife really liked having a vegetable forward dish like the carrots a star on the menu. Our shared pasta was ok but not exceptional. A bit salty for my wife. We didn’t try the more “protein forward” dishes. Desert was limited but really good. We had saved space for the desert which was smart as both offerings were quite filling. A place to return to for sure

Delicious. Plates are larger than tapas but not full dinner portions, and our server suggested 2 per guest. This worked well for us. The charred carrots were a pleasant surprise with a spice rub. We also enjoyed the tempura cod, kale pesto spaghetti and the fennel sausage pasta. We started with an olive hummus with warm just-made pitas. We were full, but decided to try dessert and we loved it despite it being very different. It was a rye bread roll with mousse and cherry sauce and crunchy nuts (pistachio?). A wonderful experience.

The Aperture never disappoints. Chef Jordan is always elevating his game. Beautiful and delicious seasonal foods that can’t be beat. His hummus is an elevated perfection.
