The Aperture, the first full-scale restaurant project from Chef Jordan Anthony-Brown. The menu reflects the concept of Mediterranean mezze style dining, consisting of many small plates, rustic in nature and reflective of seasonality and creates a natural progression and flow for the dining experience. The Aperture’s menu reflects three fundamental tenets: intention, balance, and focus. The menu - and its individual dishes - are approached with the objective of putting critical thought into every component, eliminating the extraneous, and ensuring a natural flow across the menu. The culinary program is heavily influenced by the cuisine of the broader Mediterranean region and the simple, seasonal cooking of Southern France, Italy, Greece, and the Levant.

Our menu changes often and with the seasons. You can always find our current menu on our website www.theaperturecinci.com.

Our first visit. Everything was amazing and can’t wait to come back and try more. Our server was very knowledgeable about the nicely curated wine list.

I was unfortunately disappointed by my trip here, which was a bummer because my wife and I were excited, esp after the James Beard nod. The food was excellent and inventive – we particularly enjoyed the sweet potato dish – but the service/pacing was quite slow. It took us 2 hours to eat a hummus, vegetable, and pasta course. The gap between the dishes really killed the momentum of the meal, and our pasta course actually came out tepid. They kindly re-prepared the dish for us. Our server was kind and was working hard, but I think he was spread too thin. He seemed to be serving many tables, and that may have contributed to the pacing too, as I think he may have been too busy to send the orders to the kitchen on time. The table next to us had a different server, and they were able to complete the same number of courses about twice as fast as we did. Our waiter and the front of house manager apologized a lot about the cold pasta course, which was nice. They also removed it from our bill, which I appreciated. But they didn't acknowledge the slow pacing once. The restaurant is pretty, but we were seated kind of close to the main entrance, and we were blasted by cold air everytime someone entered or exited the restaurant. We bonded with the table next to us on the experience. Overall: the food was great, and I hope they can iron out the kinks on pacing/service/ambiance to match. I'll come back sometime, but I'm not in a hurry.

Wow!! Aperture is yet another example of why Cincinnati is truly a foodie city. Very impressed with every not-so-little-detail Chef Jordan Anthony Brown put into this restaurant. The space is modern, yet intimate; the lighting is a perfect balance of mood and softness; even with a completely full restaurant, it was never loud; sitting next to the windows on a cold, rainy night, we never felt any temperature difference; the service from everyone was equally excellent, professional, friendly and attentive. Now, for the food. First, watching the chefs in the open kitchen was entertainment in itself. I could have watched this intimate look into the passion and precision of the preparing, creating, and plating each individual dish all night. Every dish we ordered was uniquely different in its presentation and flavor: simple, yet fresh, curious and delicious with combinations I have not previously encountered. The Fennel sausage pasta was perfect in its sauce distribution, flavor and al dente texture. The Stripped Bass delivered a flaky, crisp fish in an emulsion of light chowder-like sauce-Unexpectedly amazing. The simple fire-heated pita with the eggplant hummus was no less impressive. Thank you Chef Jordan Anthony Brown, and the people that work along side you to remind us how decadent and fun eating can be when made with love and dedication.

Waiter suggested for 2 people you get 4 to 6 plates, we got 4 (one from each section) and everything was divine and I was even STUFFED. No room left for dessert!!! We were seated in the middle of the room, and were able to look into the kitchen, very cool. Everyone was dressed very nice, only a few people dressed in hoodies/jeans (don’t be that person pllllleeaaasse) who were seated off to the far corners. Food was rich and flavorful and it was hard to pick a winner. Our favorite was the Spice girl cocktail and the charred carrots.
