Welcome to the Black Bull.
Tucked away in rural Lancashire, between cloud topped hills, green fields, rolling pastures, and lots of cows... sits The Black Bull Inn.
Nestled in the picturesque village of Old Langho, our stone building has been here since the 1500s. Steeped in history it has it's own warm welcome to travellers from far and wide.
Our menu is fresh, local and has a nice balance of those "pub classics" but brought up to date in modern and inventive ways.
Dog friendly in the bar area or garden, and plenty of cosy seating available in front of our roaring fires, in The Library, or in our gorgeous, beamed, renovated Fire Barn.

Great venue with great food, can be very busy during the weekend and has live music from the early evening onwards.

Three diners booked for 12.30pm to celebrate a birthday. Order placed but it was 60 minutes before starter arrived - a delicious sharing platter. A further 40 minutes before the mains arrived - all salads. The two modestly sized (for a main course) duck with hoi sin salads were fine (despite only one pomegranate aril found - on close inspection - between the two of us) but the equally modestly sized Bull winter salad arrived without ANY blue cheese, or salad dressing, so whoever 'finished' the dish failed to deliver. The Aspen fries, however, were awesome! The blue cheese quickly arrived after I got up to find a waiter and requested it, but overall it was a slow, underwhelming lunch with friends. So disappointed because I come regularly and I have never been let down before. Hopefully our large family Sunday lunch in the New Year will be much better.

Really cosy, festive atmosphere and such great, friendly service. Good selection of wines by the glass too. This was our first visit and we will be back. Thanks

On our arrival to the Black Bull we were greeted by a warm welcome in every sense. The location and atmosphere was beautiful and the staff couldn't do enough. The choice of food and presentation was fantastic and was loved by all of my family, we will definitely return

The starters were great and got our hopes up for the main course, but it was disappointing—just warm and not much flavour. It’s a shame because the atmosphere and decor were lovely. The service was okay, but they could invest in more waiting staff, seemed to be very much run by 2 main staff which is ok if it’s quiet but not enough for a full restaurant. The team was polite, but it felt a bit impersonal—no one checked how the food was or asked if we wanted more drinks. Simple things that were missing.
