   Great experience at the Black Pearl. We went on Saturday, February 15, 2025 and they still had the 4 course tasting menu from Valentine’s Day. Our waiter Sean was fantastic and thoroughly explained the menu. The sommelier, Tommy, was very knowledgeable. Will go back to the Black Pearl very soon. Food was fantastic, and the ambience was very romantic.

   The Black Pearl did not disappoint! We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and it is consistently superior from beginning to end. Best filet in Tampa Bay - we recommend adding the foie gras and gorgonzola cheese crumbles… you won’t regret it!

   The Black Pearl is -- and has been for many years -- one of the best restaurants in Florida. It excels in every aspect with incredible food, impeccable service, and wonderful wines. We have been here many times and have never been disappointed.

   The Black Pearl is touted as an iconic restaurant with incredible food and excellent ambiance. Well the food was good. We went during the month of February which means there was a mandated tasting menu for $125 per person. Some items were great - the filet, the crème brûlée , and even the chocolate butter. But others were just okay. Also it’s a very small restaurant and when we arrived they seated us at a small table in a walkway. I asked if we could have one of the empty tables by the wall and the host said they give those out based on who had the earliest reservation. We made ours weeks ago. Well the table that I requested, the one he was saving for someone else, sat empty the entire two hours we were there! I don’t mind paying extra for excellence. But we had the mandated meal, I had the wine pairings and my husband had a beer and it was $474. Doesn’t really seem like a good value. We’ve had better meals for the money.

   The Black Pearl has potential. However, we were not informed in advance of the Prix Fix menu for Feb 10 due to the Valentines upcoming holiday. The price was extremely high and we were not able to deviate. I would have preferred access to the full menu. The service provided by the staff was excellent.

   The Black Pearl is an exceptional and intimate restaurant that is perfect for any special occasion. My wife and I are relatively new to the Bay Area and the restaurant came highly recommended by friends we recently made. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a warm and inviting ambience and friendly staff. Our server tonight was Alyssa who provided a fantastic experience. The chef prepared an indulgent prix fixe menu that does not disappoint! The food was also expertly paired by their remarkable sommelier Adam. While we did not take advantage of the long pairing this evening, we enjoyed a few glasses that paired perfectly with our meals and will certainly take advantage of longer pairing options during our next visit. Thank you to the entire staff for a remarkable dining experience as we celebrated our anniversary!

   Eating at the Black Pearl is a complete experience. The food is outstanding, with every bite tantalizing your taste buds. The Chilean sea bass literally melted on your tongue. Every course made you want to come back over and over. Great wine choices. I would highly recommend for any occasion
