The Bleeding Horse is a historically significant public house located in Upper Camden Street, Dublin, Ireland. It dates at least back to the 17th century, and was located on St. Kevin’s Port (now Camden St.) at the junction of two important highways leading out of the city.
On one side was Charlotte St., leading to Ranelagh and Donnybrook; on the other side was Old Camden St., which joined Richmond St. and led to Rathmines and Cullenswood. Both of these old streets disappeared during the renovations in the 1990s. The present building dates from 1871; the interior was renovated in 1992.
There are (at least) two explanations for the name. One is that when a horse got the “staggers” it was bled by a farrier at the inn. Another is that the name of the pub comes from an incident during the Battle of Rathmines in 1649, when a wounded horse fled from the battle.

We went for an early dinner on a Sunday afternoon. It may be ok for drinks but wouldn't recommend for food. Uncomfortable experience.

Food was very tasty. Could do with making the childrens menu a little child friendly. Staff were super, very attentive. Only downfall is the music was way too loud. We were there for dinner and chats and for a Tuesday evening it was way to much.

Delicious burgers, friendly staff and amazing atmosphere. Just what I was looking for. Good selection of beers on tap including a local APA. Only the hummus plate was a letdown.

We went right after a game so the place was loud and crowded, but still an upbeat atmosphere. Our server was nice, food was decent. Seems like a place you go to more for group outings to drink, not to eat.

Service appalling. Atmosphere appalling. Staff appalling. Food... Guess what? Appalling. Avoid at all costs. Awful experience, even when we complained the waitress just empathised and did nothing. Never be back. Still shudder thinking about it. 😠

The mains were inedible. They tasted like they came out of a can and were dumped onto a plate. The only good thing we ate were the chicken wings. The appetizer was huge and the wings were cooked perfectly. The pineapple hot sauce was really good. But everything else was horrible. Our server Gustavo was lovely and provided us with truly amazing service. I would definitely come here to watch sports and have a pint but not for anything else.

We were brought to a table in a very dark area. Had to use phone torch to read menu. Alternative table not offered. Food takeaway on a plate. Overall very poor experience.
