The Bridge Arms is nestled within the beautiful rural village of Bridge situated within the Nailbourne Valley 2.5km South of the cathedral city of Canterbury. Originally a coaching inn, The Bridge Arms dates back to the 16th century, once a baiting house the grade II listed pub boasts large original fireplaces for the winter months and sparse outside garden with outside bar for the warmer summer months.

This iconic pub has undergone a transformation under the new ownership of Daniel and Natasha Smith (owners of The Michelin Starred Fordwich Arms) in 2021, restoring the pub to its former glory.

The menu concept created by Daniel & Natasha uses seasonal produce to support our local suppliers and to accommodate guests looking for a family friendly pub while highlighting the best British produce.

Within 9 months of opening The Bridge Arms was also awarded a Michelin Star as well as being listed in the top 100 restaurant awards.

Honestly, haven’t had a better roast dinner in all my life. The team at the bridge arms are wonderful and can’t do enough to make sure your experience is perfect.

Incredible roast, one of the best we’ve had. Rich flavours and great meat. Slight issue with service being a bit slow to start and meat coming out pink despite asking for well done twice for pregnancy reasons but overall great dining experience and would return.

The food demonstrated the kitchen has a great understanding of cooking, how food should be cooked and presented. A meal of very high quality.

Great food, (standouts were the oysters and the pig cheek), friendly staff and a good wine list.

What a fantastic experience, but would expect nothing less from the Fordwich team! Right from the start Jim was really accommodating, as were his staff with throughout the meal. The newly added Cheese & Pickle choux buns were AMAZING, and the sharing lamb main was exceptional - cooked perfectly, the flavour was out of this world. Have it with the mash and cabbage - what a combination! Jim & team - thank you for a brilliant evening...we will definitely be back!

Overall an enjoyable experience, a good standard of decor, everywhere was clean and the tables were nicely spaced apart. The service from the greeting as we entered and throughout the evening was attentive, polite and not too intrusive, but perhaps just lacked the personal touch and maybe a little flair from the staff. The choices on the menu we thought were surprisingly limited, both on the starters and main courses. The parfait starter while presented well was on a huge plate leaving the food looking very lost and a little disappointing, it came with a single well cooked roll, but for the rich flavour of the parfait a 2nd or even 3rd roll would make the dish far more balanced. The main courses only really offered a fish dish, roast chicken, two choices of steak and Lobster at £85. The Wagyu Steak at £60 was a little underwhelming, considering it was only served with a single onion ring and nothing else. All other sides were an additional cost and you had to select yourself, which I find surprising for a restaurant of this level, I would of perhaps expected the Chef to have made the decisions on the balancing of flavours and textures for the whole meal to create the highest standards of dining experience, rather than leaving you to effectively, 'build your own' meal. The sides were also fairly limited, being left to choose between either Mash or Chips and not really any seasonal veg being offered. Interestingly there were far more cheeses on offer than there were desserts. So, overall a pleasant evening but not the greatest value for money, the food choices too limited and just missing that extra special levels of service and food that you would expect at these Michelin Star levels.

Pleasant venue, good choice of food but very overpriced. Fair to middling serving staff and the food served up was of average quality. Could do better, should try harder.
