   We usually love Capital Burger but our last experience was not good. Restaurant was very warm inside and very busy. Our drinks took about 30 minutes to come out because they were out of bar glasses! I can’t imagine the capitol grille or capitol burger being so low on bar glasses. And then my Stoli Doli came out in a broken martini glass! The server seemed not to care very much. Overall poor experience.

   The abundance of fruit flies are repulsive. This is the 2nd consecutive time this has happened at this location. I will not be returning for a 3rd time.

   The Capital Burger does perfectly what it sets out to do. The burgers are fabulous, big, juicy and delicious. The fried, if you order them are crisp, hot and tasty, the salad options large, crisp and fresh. Prices are reasonable for Boston- 2 dinners with a glass of wine and a beer cost about $70 . The experience upstairs is much better than being on the lower floor with the bar even if you are tucked away on the other side of the stairs. From the 2nd floor you get a view of Newbury street from above and a quieter more intimate experience.

    I have been to the Capital Burger in DC several times and loved it. I was expecting a similar experience in Boston and it wasn't even close. We were "greeted" by 2 hostesses who looked like they would rather be anywhere but working at the restaurant. After we were seated it took over 15 mins for anybody to come to our table. No "I will be with you in a minute" No water. No eye contact. Just ignored for 15 minutes. When we finally got a waitress she asked if there were any food allergies. She even wrote down gluten and one person in our party ordered a GF bun. The burgers took longer than you would expect 3 burgers to take, but not a big deal. When they finally came out an grumpy overweight guy we never saw before brought out the food (manager maybe?). He looked annoyed that we showed up at his restaurant and basically tossed the plates on the table. The GF bun was not GF. He looked even more annoyed now. He took it back and swapped buns (not the best practice). Then one of the other burgers that was ordered medium-well was bright red inside. We asked if it could be put back on the grill for a few minutes. "No. We will make a new one" We didn't want a new one, but that is what they did. So one person sat without food while the rest of us awkwardly ate. They brought out another burger that was just as red as the first. The waitress was very sweet and apologized many times for our meal and took off the price of one burger without us asking. That was very nice. Overally, it seems like a tough place to work as nobody looked happy in their job or really knew what was happening.
