    This is the best restaurant in Ontario the best food I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t even like to eat red meat generally, but whenever I go to the common stove, I have to order the steak my most regret is ordering everything and forgetting about dessert.

    Always a fantastic meal with outstanding service. The wood fire grill adds so much flavour to the meal. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for and huge! Mocktails were delicious too.

    The noise level was a bit high - but only because everyone in the restaurant was enjoying themselves. Definitely an elevated brunch - in terms of the food and was exactly what we were hoping for!

    The food at the Common Stove is always incredible and did not disappoint. We came to try the new menu and it was delicious. It was very busy and our entrees took longer than usual, but they made up for it with fresh bread and a discount on our bill without us even having to mention it. Well done! Amazing as always and we will be back!!

    We enjoyed the Sunday British Dinner. The beef was juicy and flavorful, the potatoes were deliciously crunchy, the vegetables were tasty and the Yorkshire pudding was outstanding. The horseradish and gravy were great on the side. It made for a delicious meal. To top it off, we all had the Sticky Toffee pudding, which was as good as it gets. If there was nothing else I liked on the menu, I would go back just for the Sticky Pudding. It was that good. Our server, Jane was very attentive and efficient. The whole experience was great.

    Everything was great! One thing I would recommend to the restaurant however is not taking reservations at 1:00 if that’s the time you close, especially if you are going to make your guests feel rushed. We were unaware of this when we made the reservation and it was a little awkward.

    Brunch food was mediocre. There were many underseasoned components, and the eggs were raw on top while being overcooked underneath. The chef doing the plating in full view of the dining room was using his bare hands the whole time to touch all the food, including mixing salads with his bare hands and plating without utensils or gloves. We didn’t see him wash his hands the whole time. That was a turnoff. The service and ambience were very nice. The coffee was good. But overall it was a disappointing brunch experience for such a highly rated restaurant.

    Hi Allison, Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. Please rest assured it is something that we are aware of and strive to do well. We have 3 hand sinks behind the kitchen that are below the counter surfaces. The chefs consistently wash their hands numerous times across those 3 sinks depending on what they are doing where. We do in most circumstances touch the food with our bare hands but again we are consistently washing and/or sanitizing our hands. Fair point on the seasoning - we've reviewed that with Chef. Thanks again for the feedback - these serve as good reminders that help us get better and keep improving!
