The Commoner in Downtown Pittsburgh is open for business!

At our gastropub, we don’t distinguish between commoners and kings; we just want to feed the good people of Pittsburgh. In the restaurant, seasonal menus add a modern flair to classic comforts, complemented by a robust selection of local beers and craft spirits. It’s all served in an industrial-inspired setting in downtown Pittsburgh. Come and join us for an uncommonly good time.

Not impressed. I would never dine here again. Waiter behind the hostess station ignored us when we arrived. Walked off and came back, continued to ignore us. When he was about to leave the second time I asked him if there was a hostess available to seat us, only then were we greeted because we could no longer be ignored. Guess who our waiter ended up being…it’s called the hospitality industry for a reason. Wife had a terrible salad. A Home Ec student would’ve done better. Caring is always apparent in the product a kitchen produces.

Not great. Weird wedge salad. Lettuce wedge sprinkled with something like hard bacon bits and dried garlic pieces.

Excellent service from our waiter,a fine Willamette Pinot, delicious pasta and steak served in a timely manner enabled us to get to the rather sad hockey game.

Delicious! We had the Caesar salad - loved the breadcrumbs! The salmon and porkchop were also really good. Great mocktails and non-alcoholic options for drinks. We love the ambiance. Will definitely be back.

Overall very good. A little slow for the food to come. We were a few minutes early and they made us wait before seating even though there were a lot of open tables. It was weird and felt artificial.
