   Our waitress never come back after taken our orders, only time she back was middle of our meals and want to drop us a check. After we finished we had to wait quite a bit for her to come.

   What a true delight! The trout was fantastic and my husband said the smash burger was the best he has ever had. Will definitely be returning!

   The food was outstanding; my strip steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The only negative was that we were seated upstairs and it was uncomfortably cold.

   Our party of three ate at the Comus Inn on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 for brunch. We have eaten there several times in recent years, but this was the first time under the current management. We liked the new look of the place and I everyone enjoyed our food (shrimp & grits/pancakes/eggs Benedict, with focaccia and fish rillettes as sharesies). Our server seemed to be a bit overworked. It seems that they had been given a table of 20 people to deal with. Not sure if she was dealing with them on her own, but based on our experience working in restaurants they should have been given some help or at a minimum been relieved of other tables. It didn't affect our dining experience at all, but we heard the server apologizing to other diners a few times because they had regular coffee but not decaf, which seemed like an odd omission. I think I also heard them saying that they had only Earl Gray tea, which again seems like an odd omission -- the oil of bergamot in Earl Gray gives it a very particular flavor which a lot of people don't care for. The view, as always, is gorgeous, and is the reason we come back.

   The Comus Inn is a farm to table restaurant in the middle of an agricultural area. Farms are less than a mile away, so it feels like a getaway from the metro area. We already live next to the agricultural area, so it was less than a half hour from our house. The food is interesting, not the same menu items you see everywhere else. I had a smoked fish rillette appetizer and the country fried quail and waffles. The fish was good and the quail was excellent. Prices were less than most DC restaurants of similar quality. The service was friendly. As there were only five tables of diners, it was easy for her to keep up. The ambience is more country casual than upscale as the menu would suggest. My only complaint is the lighting is too bright and the seats have no cushions. For a restaurant that aspires to be a destination, it is a bit plain.

   It took 30 minutes for our server to greet us and bring us water. We had to flag down another server to put a drink order in, Mateo (he was the saving grace of the whole experience and had it not been for him we probably would have walked out). After almost an hour our server took out meal order and we asked if he wanted to just take our appetizer order or everything, he said everything. When the food came out, everything came together (appetizers and meals). We got the raw oyster appetizer and the oysters were not cut so they did not slide out of the shell. My husband ordered the short ribs and I ordered the fried quail and waffles. They never gave us steak knives so again we had to flag another server down to get a knife. The quail and waffle were really dry. The server didn't clear plates until I asked him to and even then it was only a few, we still had dinner plates on the table when dessert came. It was so loud we couldn't have a conversation without yelling. I ordered the orange creme brulee with shortbread. It came out with a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie instead of the shortbread and the flavor of the orange was overwhelming. Generally the food was good but the service was so horrible it did not make up for it. The bartender didn't clear a single glass from the bar so even if we had wanted to go to the bar for a drink there wasn't an inviting place to sit. A manager never came by to check on our experience. It is extremely disappointing because the previous owners had done such a great job with the restaurant and it just seems like the current management doesn't care about the customer experience. The only redeeming part of the whole experience was Mateo, he was extremely nice and helpful and tried to make our experience better but there was only so much he could do.

   The Comus Inn is an excellent restaurant. The service is excellent. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable. Brunch was a welcomed reward after a hike at Sugar loaf mountain. My husband and I split the very large crab pretzel. We ate shrimp and grits, steak and eggs and enjoyed Irish coffee, pineapple mimosa, and espresso martini. All 10/10. We are definitely going back.

   Lovely place to eat - beautiful view and we enjoyed a butter lettuce salad and BLTA. Delicious French fries which are hard to find. Would definitely go back

   Food and service were great. Restaurant is very noisy. One of our party is a bit hard of hearing and could not hear even with his hearing aid on!

    Rather surprised to find that several appetizers and entrees weren't available. More surprised to find that they didn't have decaf coffee!
