   We had a meal as we had booked overnight for a wedding; venison pie was excellent and hot (a big plus with me) all good.

   Very disappointing for a special occasion. Tea was so weak like dishwater. Hardly any loose leaf in a big pot of water. Photos on websites deceptive. Give impression cakes reasonable size but were like petit fours. Savour was supposed to be beetroot tartlet with bloody Mary sauce. They were tiny crostini that were dry and with few tiny bits of beetroot on. Nothing like savouries in photos. Sandwiches 3 small fingers and dark mayonnaise on smoked salmon one made it look unappetizing. Scones were alright. A big disappointment and not value for money. Should have taken notice of other negative reviews before going ahead. There were 10 of us and I felt embarrassed.

   The Cowshed is the perfect place to enjoy a lovely dinner. The food is delicious made even better knowing that the chef uses home grown produce. The staff are very welcoming and the service is extremely good.

   When we arrived, we waited over 36 minutes to be given our first drink. When the drink finally arrived we were given 2 dirty Prosecco glass with lipstick marks on them (which I had no choice but to send back) The food came out on different timings, meaning an extra 20 min delay Resulting one of our party to be eating alone as everyone else had finished. We also asked several times for the heating to be turned on slightly as the barn was absolutely freezing cold - so be prepared and bring your coats. The English tea was a nice pot as were the scones. But that was the highlight of our experience. Would unfortunately not recommend

   We had the most amazing experience dining at The Cowshed during our anniversary stay at the farm hotel! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles, and the staff went out of their way to make sure our family of four, including two young kids, had a fantastic time. The ambiance was perfect – cozy and the kids were made to feel right at home. We were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco each and an anniversary dessert - fabulous touch.

   A great experience. A choice of tea, which is free flowing, a delicious set of sandwiches and two dainty bites, 2 fabulously light and fluffy scones and some delightful little cakey delicacies were just wonderful. The Cowshed itself is a great venue with just the right amount of background music to ensure privacy of conversation without intrusion. The staff are amazing, so helpful and ensure nothing is too much trouble.. Highly recommended. I now need another excuse to return.

    Surprised to see the restaurant so empty on a Thursday evening but there was an event going on in their barn close by . This meant the ambience was lacking a bit but I’m sure it’s not like that normally. Service was very good and the food was delicious and value for money .
