Nice experience but helped by the weather. Not quite what I remember from a few years ago but pizzas were very good.

We booked for Father’s Day and the pub was relatively busy when we arrived but soon quietened down. Our order was taken fairly quickly, however, it took over an hour for the food to arrive. We were not offered any further drinks whilst we waited. It was a disappointment as the food was actually really delicious. Shame it was spoilt by the slow service.

A lovely evening, staff brill and friendly as always. Recommend the steak but if the cod wrapped in salmon is on try that (wife's recommendation) Usually have the ham, egg and chips because they are always great. Looking forward to returning!

This pub is local to us and we have recently enjoyed some good meals here. Wine list is not extensive but they have some excellent wines. My husband likes the beer. Good menu variety and food is tasty, the sticky toffee pudding was amazing! Also dog friendly - great place to sit outside if the weather is nice.

The steak and ale pie was delicious! I am so glad it was back on the menu. I would like to see some more vegetarian options. The menu has changed in the last year and it more limited but food still good.

Food and wine were good quality. Slightly disappointed by the service. Took a while for someone to come and take our drinks order. In terms of the food order, when I asked for no roast potatoes but another Yorkshire pudding instead I was told it would not be possible as the roast chicken doesn't come with Yorkshire pudding. I therefore had to have the beef which was disappointingly well done. I would also have liked roast parsnip and/or cauliflower cheese/cheesy leeks as additional vegetables. On the positive side, we shared a cheeseboard which was excellent.

Excellent ambience and a warm welcome from the bar staff as you arrive and all through our Sunday lunch dining nothing was a problem and fantastic food... but what makes it most enjoyable is the head waitress/manager and how she is genuine as she engages with you and it’s not false and genuinely ask8ng if your ok and can she do anymore for you... not the first time we have eaten here and will definitely be one of our very often must use for dinner, lunch or juts a few drinks,,,, fellow customers are a nice mixed crowd from diners to dog walkers enjoying a pint or coffee... well done the Crown and love your business and wish it was mine.... We were very disappointed as when we looked at the website under Sunday lunch it said book to avoid disappointment. So we did and low and behold they sold out of Sunday lunch when we got there. The staff were great and friendly, but we had to go to another restaurant for our lunch in the end. Nice place and wish I had got to have the Sunday lunch. Not sure I will go back with all the competition they have in Cookham as I felt rather let down.

Dear Crown, Thank you for this email. To be really honest we feel the pub is in major need of a re-vamp. In the Summer you are fine with the outdoor area but the inside main pub area is grubby, smelt of loos and doesn't have the pub atmosphere it should. The food is ok reasonable pub grub and staff are friendly and helpful but we feel the management needs to get working on the inside layout. Maybe if facing the bar make all the right side from front to back the restaurant and all the left side from front to back to be a snug pub with low tables and the fire going. You are a pub with food but at the moment you are trying to be too foodie....Bring back the pub feel or you will always be empty, which is so sad. Hope you don't mind us saying all this but we want to see local business succeed.
