Food was excellent. The bread was amazing. I could eat my weight in the bread! Ordered the steak and it was cooked perfect and was very tender and great seasoning. Wedge salad was just okay could use some bacon but the peppercorn dressing was very good. The au gratin potatoes fantastic. We added the fried shrimp and loved the sauce it was served with. Great wine choices. This is not your ordinary steakhouse. I highly recommend that if you enjoy a delicious steak this is your place to go. Nothing else like it. The ambience and nostalgia make for a great evening.

Cub was always a favorite. There was a dip in quality at one time, but they have corrected that.

It’s been over 30 yrs since we dined at The Cub. One of Shreveports historical hidden buildings that hasn’t been torn down, much like Herby K. It was a good choice (Valentines ). The other nicer restaurants have one menu choice for special occasions and are very very expensive, not The Cub. There are 9 tables so the restaurant which was built in the 1930’s is very nostalgic. It’s a different experience and we will return. The food was really good. Try it

There was no one to seat us for 10 minutes as the cook could not find the waiter. Bad start. The chardonnay tasted old and the au gratin potatoes were poorly cooked diced potatoes in a thin white sauce. The steak was small for being a "grande filet" but was tasty. The wedge salad was drenched in dressing but was filling. The bread was great. All this for $200 Including a 20% tip (no 15% was even offered) which was presented on a digital screen with the waiter watching you.
I haven't been there in 20 years and it will be another 20 before I return.

Food was excellent! Waiter was handling all of the tables alone so things got a little mixed up but all was ok.
