   The diner offered a limited menu but the food was freshly cooked to order. Service was very good.

   This place is beyond unorganized. Took forever to get super expensive mediocre food and multiple tables never got some items ordered. Seems consistent with reviews elsewhere. Our waiter was very nice but it was just beyond a mess I’m sorry to say.

   Made reservations, arrived on time, restaurant was closed - they were having an event !!! This was a Saturday night in Asbury park! Pizza on the boardwalk was delicious tho !

   It is a small place. Food is EXCELLENT. They take their time preparing it, probably as they put a lot of attention to detail, so I would not recommend it if you are in a rush. But if you want a relaxing meal with delicious food, I definitely recommend it. I intend to return.

   I made a reservation May 20 for June 8 and received confirmation. I also received a confirmation and reminder June 7. My date and I were staying in Ocean Grove for her Birthday weekend and having attended shows at Asbury Lanes, we were really looking forward to trying the Diner. After walking 25 minutes we arrived at 7:50 for an 8:00, confirmed reservation. When we opened the door, we were met with icy stares and scolded by patrons who scoffed, "it's closed for a wedding!" I definitely had no intention of crashing a wedding but also had a confirmed reservation and received a reminder the day before. Not only was this extremely awkward and left me feeling like an idiot, it also left us scrmbling to find somewhere for dinner at 8:00 on a Saturday night. I guess it's good to know you can book a last minute wedding there if need be. So for that feature (not listed on your review choices)- five stars.

   We stayed at The Asbury Hotel and saw online that this cute retro diner was next door. We thought it would be a good dinner option and saw great reviews online with mouthwatering photos. Unfortunately our experience was far from what we read. The place is small, yes but certainly wasn’t expecting the dishes to be equally small. In the photos posted online from a few months ago there was a hearty burger but no such item exists on the current menu; only sliders or other sandwiches, which is fine. What wasn’t fine is we received 2 tiny sliders for $17. For the price I was expecting more being used to larger portions at true diners and at any other dining establishment an order of sliders usually comes with 3 burgers. The milkshakes were good, especially the specialty ones. The young ladies working the tables were pleasant and atmosphere is cute but to spend over $100 for tiny burgers left much to be desired and a non returning customer

    I booked this place only because I trust OpenTable! We were there at the reservation time, waited for the waitress for a while, a lady stopped by after 10min, ordered coffee as drinks, never showed up, till the next waitress showed up! This place is tiny with tops 8tables! There were 3 people serving and the place was not packed but it took them more than 45 min to serve our scrambled eggs and toasts on the side! It was not worth to drive all the way as the menu didn’t have too much options as well as the service quality!I was also surprised by seeing a note saying “%20 gratitude” will be added to you check for OUR CONVENIENCE?????? I had to pay %20 for the service I was not happy with! I couldn’t make it a deal as I took my sister for Mother’s Day breakfast! Never again!
