The brunch menu was extensive. Service skilled and attentive. Both drinks and food VERY well prepared. Other house staff friendly and helpful (guiding to restrooms, etc.). And the valet parking really works. All told, an excellent experience.

Easy to make reservation and they were on schedule. Our waitress was nice but not very outgoing. The food was very good. Entrees will let you leave feeling hungry. Just about no vegetable on our plate with our seafood. Price was what we expected for where we were in Newport but the value was lacking. Food was very good but other than that satisfactory.

Wanted to go out for a nice lunch, so chose the Dining Room at The Vanderbilt even though brunch was the only option, which I’m not a big fan of. I was excited to see a non brunch item of shrimp and grits, which I love. But unfortunately they topped the dish with a mixture of celery chunks and red pepper. The celery was cut into really small pieces and there was so much of it that it was really unpleasant. I tried picking it out, but there was so much I ended up with pieces in every bite. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the sauce was good, but the celery ruined it for me. My husband had scrambled eggs and bangers which he said was okay. My daughter had a chicken BLT that she said was nothing special. There was mayonnaise on the sandwich, but you would think such a fancy place would put something like aioli, or tomato jam. Then to top it all off we were walking around looking at the hotel after we were done eating and what do I see? People having high tea!! I said to the hostess that I didn’t know they had high tea and that I had specifically looked for it on their website. She said it was under events. I had looked under menus. 🤯

Outstanding service from Sara and the whole team. I had the Parlor Room all to myself for my entire breakfast, and they came in and started the fire for me/tended to it regularly throughout my meal. The honey latte with cinnamon, fried egg sandwich, and buttermilk currant scone were delicious and filling. The ambience was classy and cozy, with music playing at just the right volume and warm, low lighting filling the beautifully decorated space. A perfect start to a chilly winter morning in Newport. I will recommend this breakfast spot to many!

It is a beautiful venue. The music was way too loud but our waitress eventually turned it down
