Step into our hidden speakeasy, tucked away in a historic vault, and indulge in snacks and bespoke cocktails before heading upstairs for a 7-course dinner showcasing the best of British wild food.
A sumptuous dining experience where our guests are taken on a journey of discovery by our knowledgeable and passionate team. Everyone who visits The Elder will learn something –whether it’s a story about the history of Bath, our local estates or how we prepare and cook the perfect venison.

The Elder, nestled in the lines of the original Georgian Grade 1 listed houses offers you the opportunity to experience the exquisite selection of pastries and cakes prepared by our dedicated Pastry Team. Whether it’s for a special occasion or just to treat yourself our team look forward to immersing you in this beautiful afternoon experience. A £10 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. Prices include service charge. A discretionary service charge of 12.5% will be added to your bill for any additional items taken on the day.

Even though we were a little late we were met with a warm welcome. This set the tone for friendly, impeccable service that was second to none and an exquisite afternoon tea that I consider to be the best I’ve had to date. The lemon and blueberry macarons were a delectable combination and the miniature Bath bun melted in the mouth. Highly recommended.

Incredible. We’re already thinking about when we can come next! The most beautiful tasting menu, every detail had been thought about, from the ingredients across both the meat and fish courses to the wine pairings and personal service. We were served by the manager all evening who was exceptional, and made us feel like we were the only people there despite there being multiple dinner guests. We can’t wait to book again soon. Thank you so much for a very special evening.
