Welcome to The Elephant Restaurant
The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which is situated near the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham.

Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff.

Due to the style of cooking we cannot produce dairy free menus & therefore cannot provide vegan options.

A deposit is required to make reservations on special days of the year, on our special events, or for tables of 6 or more. This is paid over the phone by calling 01803 200044.

Children's menu is only available at lunch for ages 10 and under.

Tasting menu only available in the evening unless requested via phone in advance.

    Had been recommended to try The Elephant and we weren’t disappointed. Lovely ambience, friendly and helpful staff. Had requested a gluten free meal when booking and that was accommodated easily. We went for the 3 course lunch menu at £39.95 there were 2choices for each course. My husband had belly pork lasagna which he professed quite delicious, I had beetroot ravioli with goats cheese. Fabulous taste and texture. We followed with skrie cod and creedy duck breast. All delicious topped off with tansy tart and a rhubarb pud. Wines available by the glass with a good selection. Will be returning.

    As always The Elephant team gave us a great dining experience. The food is amazing in presentation and taste and the front of house staff attentive but not overly so. A great celebratory lunch.

    Amazing meal, excellent service! We could not fault a thing. We had the set lunch menu and every course was fantastic, we will definitely return!

    Lovely calm atmosphere, staff very friendly and excellent service with good knowledge of the menu and wine menu. The food is most definitely Michelin Stars standard. We have been here severely times and have booked again for August. Never ever been disappointed.
