The staff were great with our young children, nothing was too much trouble! The food was delicious, the addition of the play park in the garden makes dining out with children much more bearable. Will definitely be going back

Delicious and generously portioned roast, lovely rare beef, great range of vegetables and tasty gravy. Despite being extremely busy due to Father’s Day, the service was good with friendly and attentive staff.

What a lovely pub. Food was great with lots of choice on the menu. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely play area that I am looking forward to bringing the children to in the holidays. Glad I booked!

Had high expectations based on the reviews but unfortunately was disappointed. The garden was dirty. You're greeted by a skip as you walk in. There were bins next to the tables, and the bathrooms were dirty. Menus were also quite confusing and you have to order at the bar, so I had to make a couple of trips back to the table to get revised orders. Food was poor. We had the salmon and chicken that was overcooked, and the pork belly was underdone and rubbery. It may be the time that we went - we arrived at 2 and it was virtually empty, but as we were leaving around 4 they were setting up the smoker in the garden and it was getting busy. Maybe aim for dinner rather than lunch. Other than that the staff were friendly and attentive.

After seeing on Facebook that The Farmers had changed over to a Smokehouse menu I decided to book for a quick late lunch with a friend. We had a very friendly welcome and were asked if we wanted to eat inside or outside, we decided on outside where there is a lovely large garden and play area. It wasn't overly busy but there were a few tables who all seemed to be enjoying their food. The menu offered a lot of choice and we liked that we could pick our sides and sauce. I went for the cajun chicken breast and my friend had a starter of chicken wings and a side of chips and salad- both were delicious and the portions were large, you won't be leaving hungry! Nicely presented and full of flavour. Will definitely be coming back to try more!

I was really shocked at how poor this pub was. Dirty menus., terrible staff who did not want to be there and either overcooked or undercooked food seemed to be their style! Quite simply, the worse Sunday roast dinner my friends, husband and I have ever had! My husband ordered two sides with his chicken burger and was given the wrong side. When we flagged this, we were told “you can only have 2 sides.” The waitress didn’t listen that they got it wrong so we re-explained what had happened. She proceeded to pick up the incorrect side (coleslaw) off his plate, no apology and the correct side was eventually brought out (over cooked corn on the cob)! We were shocked at the way she removed the item (surely this was just binned, hopefully not re-served to someone else)! The roast chicken for 2, awful! Under cooked carrots, parsnips, potatoes, over cooked Yorkshires - they were like cardboard! Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshires would have been better. Chicken was ok, gravy was very good. The waitresses seemed to not want to be there (I saw one roll their eyes at another person’s request to not have cabbage with their roast). The team lacked tidying up too - a large table had left and it took about 40 mins to clear it up! We had empty glasses and water bottles etc to the side of our table and it took several attempts to clear! We moved to the bar for a last drink - the barman asked me if the member of our party wanted a fresh glass, I said yes as we were at the bar and my friend didn’t bring his glass with him. He responded with “well I can see his glass on the table”… once again I was shocked - did he expect us to walk back through to the dining area to get a dirty glass to re use?! Asking for a drinks order seemed to be a shock! Having been here before and loved it, sadly today’s experience was actually shocking and we will not be going back! For the price, there are much nicer options with great service. Hugely disappointed for our Easter Sunday. Avoid!

Food was torally over cooked and dry. The staff did remove the drinks without having to ask which was nice.

The menu was totally different to that shown on the Web site. Would not have chosen this venue if the correct menu had been displayed. The team tried but we're clearly understaffed. The food was not well cooked.
