   We had chicken fried chicken & chicken fried steak, which were outstanding! They offer 1/2 portions which were perfect. One had the salmon & thought it was delicious and another a chicken sandwich - everyone was happy with their meal. 3 split a piece of carrot cake & still had some to take home. The server missed an appetizer order but otherwise service was great & portions healthy.

   Great place for cocktails and appetizers. We recommend the cheeseburger egg rolls, bang bang shrimp and smoked pork belly. Extensive selection of whiskey, and excellent service. Entrees were only okay. We had the diver scallops, blackened tuna and sliders. All were fine but not exceptional.

   I've been to the Federal Grill a few times. the food is always good to great, staff is super and I love the charm of the place. We always feel welcomed there, they go out of there way to ensure the guests are taken care of and again, the food is always very good! I also must commend the bar staff, the drinks I had (2 different Old Fashions) were better than almost any place I've had in the Housto metro area. And I must commend them on their wide selection of premium whiskeys and they don't charge ridiculous prices for them. I have no problem recommending them to friends at all!

   The place was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. The staff was very professional, helpful and pleasant, but they were also very social which made our dinner experience FUN! Prices were very reasonable.

   Food was very good as always. For some reason they have changed target market to attract NOT high end diners, but mid market, country music, loud music, with bright lights loving crowd. They even quit serving the fried oysters, Asian fusion appies. With so many other choices with better ambience, this one is off of our list.

    Nice place to have a meal on Shepherd. Parking is tough unless you valet. Oysters were fantastic, definitely worth a try. Scallops were cooked perfectly. Busy Saturday night.
