When making reservation (from USA) I thought that at 1:00pm I was making a lunch reservation. Only to find they only do afternoon tea on Sat and Sun. They did give us lunch but told us that we’d need to order one afternoon tea since it’s their policy! So an extra unnecessary cost. Not impressed by that, the very least it should say that on open Table. Staff were nice and apologized for the policy!

We booked a table for 3 as hotel guests on Good Friday as a means to escaping the alcohol ban. The staff started quite attentive, but perhaps lost patience with our slow decisions on food, as it went significantly down hill. My glass was drained so I went in search of our bottle of wine, unsuccessfully, and also had to request the complimentary prosecco as well as multiple tap water refills. The food (nice enough, but by now means memorable) was also very slow between courses and I think we ended up being in the restaurant for almost 3 hours. Our waiter even (of his own accord) apologised for his awful service at one point, but didn't go as far as trying to improve it. I don't think we'll be returning on future visits to Dublin!

Our party of four included a blind person celebrating her 50th birthday, a visually challenged man also celebrating his birthday, a cantankerous and extremely fussy 83 year old and myself, who has numerous food allergies, we were accompanied by a guide dog! The service we received from our waiter, Robert, was second to none. He was attentive without being overbearing, he checked all my selections with the kitchen before finalising our order and made the evening for my three guests. When two of our main courses were delivered warm rather than hot they were returned to the kitchen and fresh meals were prepared rather than reheated without any fuss at all. We will visit The Wilde again

My friend and I spent a romantic evening here. There was a prix fixe menu that offered decent value (euros 29 for 2 courses and 35 for 3 courses). I had chicken and asparagus poached wine, with truffled boudin, yolk, and asparagus savings. My companion has mackerel fillet. Then it was slow cooked pork belly for me, with carrot and star anise puree, pickled apple, roasted hazelnut and tarragon quinoa, whilst my friend had Irish rib eye steak. The desserts were too good to miss, and he had Chocolate fondant. The food was delicate and delicious. Clearly the Westbury is aiming to enter the highest league of Dublin restaurants, and they were very interested in our comments and very willing to share their aspirations with us.

No rush to return: Table in direct line of open door and cold aircon. 20 minute wait after starters. Mains only luke warm when they finally arrived. Lots of staff around but no visit to check if all ok at the table. Skipped desert as delay could have been hours! Offers of complimentary coffee on the house accepted. Will not be returning any time soon.

The food is not worth the price. I had the beef fillet with mushrooms, it had no sauce and was a very dry piece of meat. The price of the meal was not worth the quality. In additional, our waiter did not pour us the rest of our bottle of wine. He never came back to our table once he dropped of the check, and the bottle was not placed at our table, so that we could pour ourselves, thus we could not finish the bottle. The food is not worth the price.

We were really looking forward to our meal in Wilde, but were really disappointed. We were seated at a window table, which was lovely. But 10 minutes after we arrived, the big group that had been seated in our part of the restaurant left and we were the only people left sitting there. Other people arrived after us, but everyone was seated at the opposite end of the restaurant, which left us feeling quite isolated. We were there nearly 30 minutes before anyone took a drinks order and it was a further 10 minutes before anyone noticed that our order had not been taken. There was also a very long wait between our starter and main course. A brief applogy was made then, but too little too late. I couldnt possibly recommend this to anyone else.

After a friend recommending this restaurant, I thought I should give it a try. We got the special 3 course for 35 euro each. The pate was decent, but the salmon was nothing special for starters. The corn fed chicken was average, very small portion. The biggest disappointment was the steak. Asked for a rare steak but was given a medium cooked and was very tough and chewy, felt like a very cheap piece of steak. Creme brulee dessert was probably the highlight and was nice. Service was pretty bad considering we were the only table there the whole night! Wine glasses kept going empty and no one around to pour for us (the wine bucket is left away from table). Not a good experience for restaurant in a 5 star hotel. Will not be going back.

Lovely night was had by all. Food was good. Service was good even if the waitress didn't smile at all her colleague made up for it. Great spot in the middle of the city but away from the madness of the city centre on a Saturday night. Lovely lounge also for after dinner drinks.
