I had the chicken burger; very, very dry. Wife had the veggie Sunday roast (wild mushroom loaf) wasn’t nice at all. One mouthful and then left by her. Not a great meal, which is such a shame as we have had a number of nice meals there before.

Waited far too long to be served - over an hour- and table was booked in advance. Meat ( lamb) was not very tender. Crème brûlée pudding chosen but then not available. Kitchen not working fast enough and staff seemed unsure how to do service.

We were a party of 5 all of whom had a roast dinner. Good choice and expansive children’s menu. The portion sizes were good. Vegetables fresh. Large crispy Yorkshire puddings. Tender meat. Roast potatoes and parsnips could have been a little more crispy and everything was only lukewarm on arrival at the table. Service was good and waiting time reasonable. Atmosphere pleasant but all seats stained and needing covering. Everything else was clean. Cost £105 for one course and a drink for 4 adults and a child.

We have visited this pub lots of times and never been disappointed with the food but sadly this time we were very let down after looking forward to a Sunday roast The food was really tasty but barely even warm apart from the cauliflower cheese which was brought out separately When asked how our meal was at the start by the waitress we were honest and mentioned this, the staff were very accommodating offering us a fresh hot replacement but we were so hungry after having no breakfast we just stuck with it hoping the extra hot gravy we ordered would help. We were then offered either free puddings, wines or a discount off the bill (we accepted the offer of the latter) We can’t fault the staffs attitude in how they dealt with the problem they were polite and apologetic, it wouldn’t put me going again to the pub but it was just disappointing if I’m honest

We arrived on time and was seated on time, we then waited the best part of 45 minutes when a server approached and asked what drinks we wanted even though we hadn’t been given any drinks menu or food menu at which we then had to ask, food was extremely slow and the roast potatoes tasted as if pre cooked and then reheated, some of the veg was sliced so thin they then become crispy, so overall not the greatest experience
