   I have a nut allergy and the food was fried in nut oil so could not have the standard fish or the chips, or halloumi. The restaurant does not offer alternative non-nut oil fried food, so I had to opt for steamed cod which was very bland. Apple crumble was not as good as it used to be. I have not been there for a while and it is no more the good old authentic fish and chips place it used to be.

   Great fish restaurant at reasonable price. Beautiful crispy batter on the haddock Fabulous pudding of rhubarb and custard. Went back a second time

   Really friendly staff, very jolly and attentive. My fishcakes were almost devoid of fish, not what you want for nearly £16.

   Great fish and chips and good selection of wine. They also fry the cod and haddock skin off - which is extra special - not many do this outside Yorkshire. Highly recommend.

   I gave only 1 stars because even though we had reservations through OpenTable, the restaurant was closed when we arrived due to broken equipment. So, unfortunately we never had the opportunity to eat there…disappointed because it had come highly recommended.

   Good chips, the skate was a good flavour but it was very thin, flesh on only one side, so not good value for the £18 charged. Otherwise as you would expect from a well respected fish and chip shop. Hope the skate was a one off as my husband’s cod was very good

    The fish and chips were excellent, but three small fish, two portions of chips and a salad cost more than £70.
