As always brilliant. Fantastic stargazy langoustine pie. Fallow ragu. Ox tongue tonnato. I love the seasonality and changing menus. Keep it up

Cosy, country pub. Great ambience with candles on bare wooden tables. Eclectic furniture and crockery. Delicious food. Absolutely amazing!

We had a wonderful evening and got to sit at the best table for four. The food was delicious and choice good. In the past we have not been very often due to the gamey menu but my husband over the moon with his roast chicken and top notch crunchy freshly roasted potatoes. We were served by a charming girl and Wil sets the scene. We will be back soon! Sharon and Keith Glanville

I was asked on the booking if it was for a specific occasion to which I replied yes it was a friends 60th birthday treat. This was completely overlooked which was very disappointing. Very inexperienced staff who didn’t attend to us until we asked three times to even get a drink. They were more interested in laying other covers than looking after us. Wine extortionate and underwhelming. Food okay but a little bland. Expect a lot better for £150! Will go back to Watson and Walpole next time where staff are amazing. Service is everything!

Real farm to table menu with a modern twist and hearty portions. Gorgeous beamed room with open fire and great friendly service. Leave room for dessert if you can as they are outstanding. So glad we discovered this gem.

On arrival the car park was full of Range Rovers which you obviously need to cope with all the deep puddles there. Tricky parking on the narrow road outside, inside the pub was very busy and very warm, good sign so far. Our table was right next to one of the log fires which was [unnecessarily] stoked as we sat down, two chairs 4' from it, handy in freezing weather but it was a mild, damp evening. No alternative places available as full house. Artichoke starter, miniscule helping, tasted of nothing except the batter it was fried in. Main course Hake, fresh and tender what there was of it, the tastiest thing was the potato cake, the dish at £29 about £5 a mouthful for a delicate eater. Go outside to cool off and find the loo which is across the puddles in the car park. Great for an old fashioned village pub but for a super gastro was appalled to find only two lavatories in the uni-sex shed, one blocked and overflowing and the floor running wet! Back in the furnace the wine list was comprehensive but £48.00 for a screw top Macon-Lungy... the best and tastiest drink on my menu was a pint of Adnam's Lighthouse at a reasonable £4.40. Asked for a couple of extra scoops of ice cream with the puds and was charged £9.00. When having a quiet word with the waitress when the bill came she suggested if we weren't happy we could deduct the 12.5% service charge. This didn't seem fair to the staff so we paid up and left with the feeling that The Greyhound is a place for people with more money than sense.

I think they are trying to be too fancy and missing the subtle blend of flavours. The menu was limited accordingly. Heavily meat based with very little extras.
