The Hardiman offers a delightful Afternoon Tea experience with "lovely and friendly" staff and a charming pianist enhancing the ambiance. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of disastrous. Despite booking the afternoon tea in advance, we were greeted with confusion from the staff who seemed completely unaware of our reservation. Initially, we were sent to the bar to wait and assured that someone would come to get us when the table was ready. It wasn’t even a busy afternoon, yet we were forgotten for 25 minutes until I had to find the waiter myself, who admitted he had completely forgotten about us. We eventually seated ourselves in the lounge and informed the same waiter, but it was another 30 minutes before anyone came to serve us. The manager did come down eventually, but things didn’t improve. Orders were forgotten repeatedly, including basic items like side plates. After waiting for a considerable time and asking two different waiters, both arrived simultaneously with the plates. Witnessing the same disorganized service at nearby tables, we even suggested they give the extra plates to another group experiencing similar issues. When the afternoon tea finally arrived, it was underwhelming. The plates were visibly unclean, and while the food looked presentable, it was not fresh. The only redeeming item was a small scone. One decent item out of many simply doesn’t justify the cost. The service wasn’t the only disappointment—the bathrooms were in a shocking state. No toilet paper in any cubicles, no hand towels, and broken electric dryers added to the dismal experience. If the venue was short-staffed, it would have been professional to inform us from the outset, especially from the manager. A gesture of goodwill, such as a complimentary drink, would have at least acknowledged the delays and poor service. At €75 per head, this experience was absolutely not worth it. I strongly urge others to avoid this establishment. From start to finish, it was a complete disaster.

Very poor sandwich selection with really plain fillings. No effort at all. Service was poor and we were left alone after the initial service. It was not a treat at all as you would expect. Very bad value for money at 35 euros per person. I would not recommend it ....do not waste your money.it was supposed to be a birthday treat but it was a complete disaster and very disappointing

It was terrible. 15mins waiting I had to keep going to find staff and request our table and was ignored my most. Finally sat 20mins later than booked. Again staff disappeared. It was 45min before we had drinks order taken. My mug had a huge chip. Our food was served an hour late. The area was freezing aswell with the main door blowing cold air on top of you. It was frustrating to find staff to speak too. There wasn't even people to complain too. I went to pay and they tired to charge me twice. Food was OK but everything else was awful. Never ever again and i suggest people go elsewhere

Food was beautiful and great service. Seating area was pretty cold due to the revolving door. Otherwise lovely.

I had a great experience at the Afternoon Tea service with my sister and nieces. They easily accommodated my sister's gluten allergy and my nieces felt like princesses through the whole experience. Our server was so lovely to us and made us feel special. The pianist played beautifully and my youngest niece was enamored with her. I highly recommend booking yourself an afternoon tea here.

This was a very nice afternoon tea, in a lovely setting. It was not amazing, we were expecting a little more. We have had afternoon teas all over the world. It was ok. It was elevated by an amazing member of staff who made it more special. The environment was noisy with lots of coming and going as we thought they were prepping for Christmas decorations. The ladies toilets were in such a mess that I mentioned to an indifferent member of staff on the front desk. Only ok, not marvellous.

The tea experience at Hardiman seems to be an afterthought at best for their culinary and service staff. You are located in lobby which has a lot of noise and foot traffic. The tea selection was basic and the food was bad. The pastries and scones were very dry and seemed like they had been previously frozen. No clotted cream or even normal butter is provided. Sandwiches were poorly constructed - they gave me one that was only a spread on white bread. The staff was pleasant but clearly too busy for a tea experience. For the price; this was not at all worth it.

It was alright, but you’re sat in the lobby of the hotel around threadbare couches, doors wide open getting the sounds of eyre square, people walking into the lobby with their bikes, etc. Just not the elegant or refined experience you have in mind when you book afternoon tea. And like, the saucer under my cup had been dirty (not a huge deal as food doesn’t go on that, but still a bit of an ick). Not super well presented on the table. The server was nice. The food was nice. But yeah, overall a kind of mediocre experience and a bit overpriced as a result.
