   We went to brunch prior to the Pantages show. We were escorted up in the elevator to the restaurant. We were seated and after we ordered we wandered around to take pictures with the celebrity wax figures. That was fun and silly. Service was great. Food was great - lox bagel- Classic American I think is what the other order was called. Mimosas great.

   My friends and I wanted to check out the new Hollywood Rooftop restaurant that is on the rooftop of Madame Tussauds wax museum. I don't think it is clear looking at the website that the entire dining area is outdoors which is not appealing on a cool night with light rain. There are about 6 wax figures sprinkled throughout the dining area making it look a bit sparse. Our drinks arrived very quickly; however, our food took an hour and the restaurant was not busy at all (like half a dozen other tables). One friend ordered the salmon entree and the other friend ordered a burger and I ordered a salad without cheese and asked them to add roasted mushrooms to it. My salad arrived piled high with cheese and so I asked them to please remake it. They returned with a new salad right away and instead of roasted mushrooms, they sprinkled raw oyster and raw beech mushrooms all over it (I have never seen these types of mushrooms served raw before so I opted to push them to the side). Our server never checked back on us during our meal and then when we asked to split the bill, she said that she had to itemize each person's order separately, so we did that...when she brought us each our individual bill to sign, she failed to mention that a 19.5% gratuity was automatically included - this is definitely too much and unnecessary for a group of 3 people. None of us will be returning.

   I'm always looking for new different out of the box experiences and Madame Tussauds rooftop was just the ticket. It was different than any other dining experience on the Hollywood strip which us what I believe they were going for. The food while not gourmet still did the jib & the prices were reasonable. We don't drink so we had delicious mocktails served up. The decor mixed with different wax figures you can photograph with was the cherry on top. The downside was they do add a 19.5% gratuity fee automatically to your bill. That added $29.96 more to our bill. We tip always but according to how we want. Servers here & at other places to eat should be paid a living wage by their employers, not by gauging the diners. Now having said that our server Abby was stellar, very attentive to us & we tipped her over the above mentioned for that reason. 7.5/10. Definitely would return & will tell friends and family.
