   From the time you step into the front of the building you can feel the history and the elegance that it holds. Just a wonderful place with incredible service, wonderful food/drinks and a great atmosphere and views!!

   This is my birthday experience dinner almost every year. Such a pretty place, and always fun. I would not hesitate to take people from out of town here for a nice dinner.

   I was very excited to have dinner on Christmas night at The Iguana Restaurant. We had a nice table and we started out with some lovely squash blossoms for appetizers. And then the 10-piece Mariachi Band started to play. LOUDLY. When they started they were in the atrium area and we thought they would just stay there. While it wasn’t ideal - it was quite loud from there - my husband and I could at least still talk, although we had to raise our voices to do so. Then they came to our area and did 3 songs. They were so LOUD that I got a headache and it was just unbearable. They proceeded to another area of the restaurant and continued to play. Then they did the same round again about 1/2 an hour later. We had eaten at Cafe De Artist the night before and they also had a mariachi band. THAT band understood how to play and still be respectful of the guests. They played quietly and, I guess the easiest way to explain it is that they played “locally” to the table they were currently entertaining. While I don’t really appreciate having to pause my meal to watch a band I didn’t ask for ( at either restaurant), but at least at Cafe De Artist, they played one song very well - quietly and respectfully - and then they moved on. We tipped the band at Cafe De Artist before they moved on to the next table because it did make the night seem more special. The band at The Iguana *demanded* your attention. They were very good musicians but we just wanted to have an enjoyable meal. If they had played more respectfully I wouldn’t have said anything about this. But the band was disrespectful of the guests and I wasn’t the only guest who was clearly annoyed by this. I came away with a headache and we had a very bad experience. We will never go back.

   Our second year for Christmas dinner here and again super! A leisurely dinner takes a couple of hours, which is as it should be!

   The most charming and romantic setting. Stunning decor, beautiful ambiance, outstanding food and service. Impeccable and the mariachi band just added to it, making it a spectacular evening. This is a must if visiting Puerta Vallarta!

    After a decade of visiting The Iguana I’ll never be back. Prices have escalated and the service is so arrogant. They supplied a shirt when they didn’t approve of my outfit and made me leave ID to ensure I didn’t steal it. No quality check of the food and underwhelming. Many other stellar restaurants in PV I’ll recommend.
