The food really has gone off at the Ivy. Very little feels freshly cooked. Flat iron chicken was very soft and overcooked, sauce v sparse & slimy. Not a great experience

Perfect start to my day! Welcome greetings at the door were friendly and courteous. As requested upon booking, a quiet breakfast table had been reserved which was just perfect. The waiting staff were friendly, helpful and very professional, nothing was too much trouble and specific requests were met promptly. The food, as always, was delicious. My portion of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was a little on the large side for me but I did add granary toast as an accompaniment and polished off the entire portion out of greed! My friend had poached eggs with avocado and hollandaise which looked perfectly cooked. Food presentation was impeccable. Service was faultless. One thing I love about The Ivy is the table linen! I’m a stickler for traditions, there’s nothing nicer than sitting down to eat good food at a table that is properly dressed and a decent napkin on your knee. The atmosphere was perfect, not full as it was early Wednesday morning, but enough occupied tables to create an indulgent and relaxed vibe. All in all, a very relaxed start to our day. Well done to the whole team! Super professional 👍 Thank you

Worst roast dinner I have ever experienced. The roast beef was first substituted with a steak. When the second attempt came out it was raw beef which had been flash fried on a griddle. Really horrendous for a roast dinner priced at 30 pounds.

Fabulous meal ,started with cocktails at the bar then at the table shared a calamari starter which was delicious. Next was a duck Rendang curry with Jasmine rice and fishcakes with a side of chips and we shared chocolate truffles to finish with something sweet. All served beautifully. Loved it all and would highly recommend.

Arrived promptly for a 7pm reservation but told table not ready , have a drink at the bar . No seats at the bar so put on a ‘temporary’ table . Waited 20 minutes before asked if we’d like to order a drink . After 40 minutes and watching several people go in before us had to ask what was happening as it seems we had been forgotten. Eventually seated and order taken . The food was very nice and service good . However it seemed to be very chaotic with staff running about . Although it was a Friday night a restaurant knows how many people to expect. Not the experience I was hoping for

A wonderful welcome with super friendly staff - good took forever to come which wasn’t terrible but definitely glad we started with the corgette fritti! (Very salty but tasty) Had scallops to start which were very tasty after adding some salt Truffle Milenese for main which was dry and fried egg overdone. The waiter that bought us our mains asked if we would like any sauces which we said yes and asked for alongside a pepper mill that worked but they were never bought over…. Probably the worst Ivy I have ever been too which is a shame as I always thought you can’t go wrong with an ivy…

The ambiance at The Ivy Harrogate is undeniably charming, and the food lives up to its reputation for quality. The dishes we ordered were beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. However, the service left much to be desired. Despite an overall pleasant dining experience, it took over 45 minutes for our desserts to arrive, which significantly dampened the evening. The delay felt excessive and wasn’t adequately addressed by the staff, leaving us feeling frustrated. If the service were more attentive, this would be a five-star experience. As it stands, while the food was excellent, the long wait for dessert makes it hard to fully recommend.
