   I would like to say I had enjoyed the food at the ivy. However I am extremely disappointed with them and their staff. When I received the bill I was shocked to see they had charged me for two glasses of their most expensive rose which I didn’t request instead of their house. I was charged 55 pound for 2 glasses of wine which is extortionate! The wine I expected to have was 6 pound a glass. I hope in the future they do not do this to other people.

   The service was great, pretty quick. The waitress was really nice and professional. We appreciated the cake for the birthday although it could be served before we ordered desserts because we were full. The atmosphere is a bit noisy but overall very nice.

   Seated in the main hub dining experience was good as usual. Ambience is a fate of god fortune or illfatedness, and this occasion was the latter. But staff were delightful and altered to more indifferent waitresses. Waiter was excellent though the waitress who took over was on a personal mission of sabotage that quite possibly may be in conflict with company policy. But modern day diversity living affords each to be master of the moment over some unsuspecting victim of their crusade buy food - steak etc was good and house white wine was unusually bland.

   Not my first time at Ivy, although definitely least favourite visit. Service was slow, lacking attentiveness, kindness, care. Waiters weren’t confident with what they’re bringing to the table, didn’t refill waters, no follow up questions, no proactiveness to wipe the table, just served the main dish on top of some spilled sauce. Food was quite disappointing this time, too. Ambiance - decor is lovely as usual, but waiters going up and down the restaurant with deliveries did kill the mood. If this was my first time - I would not be back.

   Booked a table for my anniversary. Responded to all the text messages to confirm I was going to make my reservation. When time came, long queue out the door and made to wait as our table wasn’t ready. I know you have 15mins grace period to get there on time but it seems this courtesy is one way. Very busy inside and staff were clearly busy. Wine was warm so had or order ice and the steak special I ordered was tough as leather. Thankfully the staff replaced the steak without fuss and took it off the bill without me asking. Very kind. But overall, ambience was more fast food than fine dining. Disappointing as eaten at so many Ivy’s including the original and all been a lot nicer than the Canary Wharf one. Maybe just a bad night, will try again.

    It’s a lovely restaurant but not as posh as the original Ivy up near Shaftesbury Ave. The diners sitting next to us were wearing big t-shirts so they made the place look scruffy and downmarket. Out of the 5 of us 4 dinners were excellent, one wasn’t good at all (tough & inedible in places) - the chicken Milanese from the main menu. No one came to check if our meals were ok. We didn’t complain and paid for it but it did dent the experience.
