Overall, not a good dining experience ( our first visit). When we turned up there was only one table occupied, which we were put very close to and were subjected to constant inane, loud chat. Our particular table was just too close. Our server was ill, coughing and sniffing, blowing her nose and not washing her hands and at one point said to a colleague that she felt like she was dying.. we hoped that she wasn’t going to serve our food to us and are still hoping that we haven’t caught anything! The food was ok but the only thing hot on our plates were the potatoes. The pint of Harvey’s wasn’t clear and the Hendrick’s and tonic had no ice or garnish and I had the tonic already in the glass ( not a bottle that I could pour in the amount to my taste), A really disappointingly uncomfortable, unenjoyable Sunday lunch.

Very nice sunday lunch, lovely venue now after considerable refurb. We do like the Kings Head a lot and have come here a number of times for a meal or just a drink. The garden is also really nice and has been very well landscaped and planted . We have had several Sunday lunches here which have been exceptional. There are lots of pubs in the area doing the same but the roast beef and smoked salmon starter were previously outstanding. Although the beef was very good this time I cannot say it was outstanding as it was before. It was much the same as many other pubs whereas before it was a small number of thick slices of Sirloin I think. I do hope they return to the previous method of serving the roast beef as I would like them to remain head and shoulders above other pubs in the locality. We will continue to support the Kings Head as it is still the best in our opinion.

We were very impressed and greatly enjoyed our evening at the Kings Head - this was our second recent visit. the food choices, the food itself and presentation were all excellent - even better than we remembered from our previous recent visit (earlier this year). Prices were very reasonable and we will be going back soon - there's lots more on the menu that we want to try.

Great good with a good choice although not overly extensive menu. On the downside it was very quiet (absolutely not the pub’s fault) but just meant there was no atmosphere. It was also cold and I wished I’d worn something warmer as did our friends!

We had a really lovely impromptu Sunday lunch. Presentation was very good and taste matched it. Nice venue and keen to return and enjoy the beautiful garden when the sun is out!

Dinner for two was £59 with a drink each. First course fish pie and steak and ale pie delicious. Shared a dessert - apple and blackberry crumble arrived without ice-cream (´run out’) and no blackberries- substituted by blackcurrants, under sweet and apples undercooked . Nice but avoid that crumble or check it is as described! The open table review process is cumbersome and clunky to use and this was third try.

Pub with excellent food and an interesting and extensive menu. Service is efficient and friendly. Definitely worth the trek. Only drawback is the lack of parking spaces.
