My husband and I live in Milwaukee, WI and went to The Kitchen American Bistro in Boulder for a NYE dinner. We had an 8:45PM reservation and were seated right away at a high-top table near the bar. We were glad to be seated at the high-top because it seemed to have more energy than the tables in the back dining room. To start, we shared the carrots, rigatoni, and Parker house rolls. The carrots were delicious with the whipped feta. We both really enjoyed the texture and flavor. The Parker house rolls were soft on the inside and had a nice toasted texture on the top with the perfect amount of salt. We both did not like the butter it was served with, it was way too garlicky for our liking. My husband said it made him "curl his toes". The rigatoni was one of our favorites of the night, it was amazing, creamy, and flavorful. We were considering getting another order of the rigatoni to-go for a late night snack! For our main dishes, we shared the Pork chop and the Denver Steak. The pork chop was honestly one of the best pork chops I've ever had!!! 10/10 hands down! All of the flavors on the plate paired well together and we loved the rye spatzle and bourbon-apple glaze it was served with. The Denver Steak is not something we'd order again. While we liked the quality of meat, we did not like all of the intense seasonings and the hominy. My husband wasn't a fan of the cilantro and did not like this entree. To end our evening, we shared the chocolate mousse dome. It was spectacular!! Creamy, smooth, and decadent. My husband said "it was a surprise at every turn". The flavor profile was somewhere between a Drumstick icecream cone and a smore. We both loved it and it was a great way to end the night. I highly recommend eating at The Kitchen American Bistro and we are looking forward to our next visit!

Tables too closely spaced. We could barely hear ourselves speak or think for the duration of the meal thanks to the excessively loquacious woman sitting next to us. Unbearable. The food was good as usual. The waitress was odd and perfunctory in her interactions with us. Overpriced.

They ruined all the dishes, except the chicken, with too much salt. Great plans, horrible execution. All 5 of us thought the same exact thing, so it was not personal preference. If they fix this, I would highly recommend. Sadly, a fatal flaw.

Very tasty fare overall in a warm, fun environment. Service was friendly and attentive. They say all of it is family style but in reality, the portion size throughout was very uneven as some served only one and others could serve 6 or more. The gem lettuce salad is for clearly for one (and small at that) yet was served on a huge plate, filling 1/3 of it, moved to the extreme edge of the plate, looking oddly paltry and making a bad/ concerning first impression. The delicata squash with two sauces was excellent (and shareable for several). The black spaghetti (otherwise known as squid ink pasta) was delicious, but appetizer size for one or two. The crispy cauliflower was very good with its two chutneys and could easily have been shared among six or eight people as an appetizer. The cod wrapped in shredded wheat or filo was really good; the sauces, combined with the crunchy coating and firm thick fish, was really nice. We didn’t have dessert. The variety of wines by the glass was limited so instead I tried the non-alcoholic liar gin & tonic, which was good. Several good-looking dishes were $40-$65, rather than the $18–$35 of most, so we didn’t consider trying them. I’d like to go back but the combination of variable portion size and price makes it hard to predict what the right occasion is to go, and with how many.

Very good carrot, cabbage, cauliflower, and pasta dishes. Chicken was also delicious! Fire place added nice ambiance.

Christmas Eve dinner was something I would rather forget. We never got our second round of drinks nor my dish. There was no explanation, no apologies no nothing. Also the room was super hot and uncomfortable. Won’t be going back.

The service was pleasant. The table was too small for the food ordered and came too quickly . The muscles were not cooked enough . Felt rushed . Not sure If the way the food was brought to the table more paced would have help. Enjoyment was lost with how food was served.
