The staff at the Linney are amazing. It’s a busy restaurant but so efficiently run by the team it feels unrushed, personal and so enjoyable. The food is always first class. Just wished I had room for a dessert! Maybe next time

went to The Linney on 28th Dec for a birthday celebration in a party of 7. Service, atmosphere and food were all excellent and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

We went to the Linny on Sunday 22nd. We had the roast lamb, which was excellent. We liked it so much that we decided to go again today (27.12). Again, our meal was very good. I had the turkey curry and my husband had liver and bacon. Everything was cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly and welcoming

Underwhelming considering it was the last Sunday before Christmas. Lacked any Christmas atmosphere from the staff or front of house manager. Which he told me to sit down twice when I approached the bar. Since COVID restrictions came inforce some establishments have kept the strict rules in place. It's a Sit down table service. This is a pub first restaurant secondly on the second floor. The pub atmosphere was lacking. Food was delivered quickly but the only thing that tasted of anything was the seasonal vegetables. The roast potatoes were not crispy and bland even after we sprinkled salt on them. The Meat I chose was pork which I've previously had and has been lovely but today it lacked any flavour and was dry. It appeared the crackling had been cooked separately from the pork. It's that fat that adds flavour to the meat during the cooking. My husband had the lamb which was just ok. If we had enjoyed ourselves we would have spent more money. As it was we paid up and left, we were there less than half an hour. We didn't like the atmosphere because there was no festive spirit from anyone not even any background Christmas music. We just didn't feel like our custom was welcome.

A wonderful setting in a very pretty village. Seating is limited so it is advised to book in advance. The service is well drilled and we did not experience any problems. We ordered our meal and the waitress did tell us there would be quite a wait. Not a problem and well worth the 45 minutes. Please remember that this is freshly cooked food and quality produce. If you want a quick "ping" meal then best think about going to a large pub chain! All of our meals arrived pipping hot and well worth the wait, fantastic. We also met the two sisters who are the chefs and they told us that they along with a sisters husband have been there for 20 years. They were very passionate about what they do and how they source the produce as local as possible. A lovely evening and we will be revisiting again in the new year.
