Ireland's most iconic drawing room looks out on the only garden grand enough to match: the glorious St. Stephen's Green. The Lord Mayor's Lounge is the perfect back drop for a special day in Dublin. A room sparkling with light; it is a welcoming setting for our celebratory theatre of that most civilised ritual: the art of Afternoon Tea.
The elements have remained unchanged over the centuries: a fragrant pot of tea, a succession of sweets and delicate sandwiches, fine china, fresh flowers and delighted laughter. This time is all about enjoying the lovely things in life, an experience designed to be shared and savoured. Time slows down and the art of conversation is revived.

From December 1st, our wonderful Lounge will convert to a casual dining venue from 7.30pm daily, allowing our guests to experience an exquisite food offering in our iconic setting.

We had an amazing time celebrating my parent's anniversary and my mom's birthday. One of the highlights was our waitress Camila, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and even explained the menu in Spanish! Thank you for a fantastic afternoon ❤️

This was our second time to visit for afternoon tea, the first time was 6 years ago and you can see the experience has lost its magic. Service was very slow, we were seated 35 minutes before our food arrived which we thought was unusual for a set menu afternoon tea. Tables along the window are seated too close to neighbouring guests, so much so you could hear their conversations better than your own. Overall a disappointing experience, we won’t be returning.

Very enjoyable Afternoon Tea. Impeccable service at all times, our cups were never empty. Delicious savory bites and outstanding cakes. Adorably presented take home boxes were a lovely finishing touch. Special mention to our attentive, friendly and professional server Róisín.

Afternoon tea was a delicious delight. We especially enjoyed the sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised to be offered a second helping if we wished . The scones were fresh and fluffy . We did however find the cakes a little too rich but of course realise, that this is down personal preference. We would have preferred an extra scone. We were impressed with the choices of teas and coffees but were disappointed that the pot of tea wasn’t left with us. We enjoyed the lovely tea china and Roisin was delightful and very knowledgable about all the components . Our only negative and this cannot be blamed on the hotel, was that the people at the next table had finished their afternoon tea and were conducting a business discussion and taking work calls very loudly . This did impact on the ambience and was difficult to ignore. It’s a difficult situation that I appreciate was not a hotel complaint but it did takeaway a little from our experience. Overall a lovely Afternoon Tea in a special location. A beautifully decorated mini desert plate was served to us at the end with Happy Anniversary iced onto it….a rather nice touch we thought . Thank you
