   The staff were second to none in their hospitality from the warm welcome to the polite and most friendly farewell. My friend and I found the menu innovative and we were spoilt for choice. I had the venison tartare for starters and Asian spiced monkfish; both absolutely beautifully cooked and presented. My friend had the pastrami chalk stream trout and the vegan feta dish which she found perfect and challenging to her taste buds. The waiting service was attentive without being intrusive. We loved the entire dining experience and shall return very soon. The ambiance of the restaurant creates a world of private dining sheltered from the hubbub of hectic London outside its portals. Highly recommend Lore of the Land.

   Our 2nd visit to dine & sadly again disappointed with the service & lack of interest the staff seem to have with their customers. Food was delicious but barely warm… several dishes were wrong with no apologies given. Size was spot on for smaller eaters but wouldn’t fill bigger eaters…. Overall the service let this dining experience down greatly, I doubt there will be a 3 visit!

   We waited a year for our reservation and travelled from the Midlands just for this meal. Everything about our experience at Lore of the Land was Exceptional. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we couldn’t fault any of it. The Service was fantastic, and our 3 year old was treated like a person rather than a Child which we personally really rate. Our reservation was on a Sunday so we decided to have the Family Sharing roast. It’s well worth the money and we gave it a real good go finishing it. The meats were cooked beautifully and were so juicy. The roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy, the vegetables were tasty and even the Yorkshire pudding had a slight Smokey taste but were delicious. Our 3 year old even said it was the best roast she’d ever had! We had the doughnut for dessert, which was super tasty and not too heavy and the coffee was a perfect finish to a fabulous meal. Thank you to all the Staff for a great visit. We will be booking a table again asap!

   Food is really very impressive - a lot of consideration went into the cooking and the creation of everything I had. It's not overly worked food by any means, but a really interesting spectrum of flavours to everything. Look around, you're in a relaxed but lovely pub; close your eyes and savour the food, you could be in a fine dining Michelin-nonsense restaurant. Couldn't recommend this place more highly. Staff are attentive and knowledgable, but relaxed, which is a great balance.

   Brilliant experience at Lore of the Land. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were kindly offered a table whilst we had our drinks before going up to dinner. The meal was excellent, we enjoyed the Cod, Trout and Burrata to start (a word of warning on the size of the cod would be helpful in the future), then shared a ribeye and sirloin steak between four for main course which was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. Finishing off with Sticky Toffee pudding, Cinnamon Rice Pudding and The Lore Donut, all were delicious. We were very well looked after and attended to throughout the meal, a personal enjoyment is the open kitchen and seeing the food be prepared. Definitely worth a re-visit.

   Absolutely incredible Sunday Roast. The gravy, the Yorkshire pudding, meats (I chose the combo lamb plus pork), vegetables and side sauce all working in harmony to drive those true flavours home. Pork with great crunchy crackle, and the beef fat potatoes were stand outs for me, as well as getting the additional bone marrow which really melted in my mouth. But my true hero could've been the duck Scotch egg to start. Accompanied with a delicious Hoisin sauce, the outer crunch, duck casing and slightly runny yolk hit the spot. I could just have a plate of those. The Lore of the Land truly nails it. I assumed being a hyped Guy Ritchie pub it could be underwhelming with small portions, but the plate was absolutely loaded and everything delicious. Finishing with the classic sticky toffee pudding, it was pleasantly much lighter and airy than expected, with a really burnt butter Caramel sauce to enhance all those classic sticky toffee spices. Lovely wait staff and very pleasant atmosphere.

    We were disappointed. The food was quite good but the meal was expensive. We were expecting a cool real pub with good food. It is scruffy and dirty in places. We won’t be returning.
