A casual and charming pub with beer at its heart! Set in the beautiful village of Old Knebworth, North Hertfordshire, just on the edge of the historic Knebworth Estate, surrounded by wonderful walks and cycle routes.

Our new menu showcases the best of local seasonal produce, all freshly prepared on site. Micheal Kirby the new head chef, classically trained, offers a contemporary take on pub classic dishes.
Book ahead for Sunday lunch as it is always popular.

Beautiful beer garden with some covered areas.

    Seating was perfect. It was busy but there was no waiting to order. The food was delicious the meat in the shepherds pie was quality. My fellow diners had the steak and chicken burger and all said was perfect . Really great atmosphere and lots of happy people .

    Clean pub, very friendly and attentive staff, lovely food. Didn't have to wait too long for food. Good choice and a lot of attention paid to my gluten intolerance.

    Food was very good, perhaps a bit more vegan choices? Our waiter Matt was brilliant, very friendly and attentive. I couldn’t decide on my wine choice, so he bought both wines for me to try! Very nice touch, the wine was lovely. We had a very pleasant evening and wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

    We enjoyed a roast dinner and dessert. Great quality food. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice and warm. Easy parking. The only slight negative was that it was a bit noisy next to a large group of diners until they left. Will definitely be back!

    Enjoyed a lovely freshly cooked meal in the conservatory area which was bright and warm. Food was excellent and all staff were helpful and attentive. Atmosphere was just right and food was cooked to perfection.

    Staff friendly and welcoming. Food ok. I had a burger which was fine, but I should have ordered a green salad to go with it. Friends all had venison cottage pie and although quite tasty felt there wasn’t enough meat.

    The best Sunday roast in Herts I reckon. The shoulder of lamb is always delicious and service from Fran is always lovely.
