The Malt Shovel is a family owned independent pub in Hartshill, Nuneaton
We open 7 days a week, have a great selection of beer, ales, ciders and wines and serve delicious from 12pm daily. We also have our outdoor Aspalls Area with its electronic retractable roof and sides we have you covered come rain or shine. Our team pride ourselves on offering a warm and friendly atmosphere and we hope to see you soon.

We sat outside in the ‘hut’ as we had our dog with us, and it was a very sunny day. Seating was all high benches or high bar stool type chairs, which was a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, the food and service were great. Will go back again and leave Teddy snoozing at home. Inside looked lovely.

Gorgeous food as always, clean tidy and well proportioned and presented food at very reasonable prices, have been before and will be back again and again .

Ordered fish and chips the fish was still frozen, Didn’t reorder because it put me off they took the price of the bill When a waitress was cleaning tables she wiped the leftover food on the floor and people would then tread in it which doesn’t look very good Will not be returning

Had a very nice meal for four people. Food was very good 👍 Priced reasonably and very large portions. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Have been several times and it never fails to impress. Our first choice for a meal out.

Cannot fault anything, food is delicious, portion sizes generous and great value for money, had the cajun fajitas today, best fajitas I've ever had!
