   We come here every once in a blue moon. It’s close by out here in the country, and a pretty setting. It’s usually well populated with locals, everyone seems to know each other - a horse-country Cheers. But are people here because there’s no other options nearby? It’s a familiar space but very dated and worn. It has the design detailing of a retirement home dining room. We sat in the bar this time because the outside was closed(it’s 19 degrees out) and the other dining rooms feel staid. It was more convivial but maybe too much for the friendly waitress/bar tender. The smoked old fashioned was very good but the cold hunk of bacon should have been served warm on the garnish. It was almost inedible. We liked the eggplant parm appetizer. Simple and tasty. My wife got the burger which she seemed to enjoy but, compared to other expensive burgers in the region, looked a bit paltry. I got the ribs with cheesy grits and green beans. The beans were boring, no two ways about it; not even salt and pepper. Grits were lukewarm and a little too firm but had good flavor. Bbq short ribs had a nice sweet tangy sauce but my most critical gripe is they were tough. Short ribs outa fall off the bone (served here boneless- in fact I thought they served me brisket slices). I shouldn’t have to struggle and pull really hard with my fork to separate the tissue. Overall, we had a nice date because everytime we come here it’s the same quality so we know what to expect. And maybe that’s why people have been coming here for so long on a regular basis, they know what to expect and they’re ok with things not changing or being perfect. But if you’re not going to present me something stellar to eat in a unique setting, then please lower the prices here. I’m sure we’ll come back another time and hope again something has changed.

   A nice place for a Sunday brunch. The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays. My husband enjoyed his omelette and the salmon blt was very tasty. One of our go to places. Especially nice in warmer weather when we can sit on the patio.

   The ambiance at Manor Tavern is lovely...warm and inviting. The service was excellent. Staff was attentive and pleasant. But, although I have enjoyed the food there before, this time the burgers my friend and I had were overcooked, dry and pretty much lacking in flavor. Disappointing. It may be just because it was a busy day, but I think they need to be able to cook the famous manor burgers to the degree ordered. I'll assume better luck next time.

   Waitstaff Dee was awesome. Chicken pot pie was good. The Manor Burger was not medium rare it was well done, so that was disappointing for an anniversary dinner. The complimentary champagne and cupcake was a nice touch.
