                                                                                                                          Was seated 25 minutes after reservation time. Waiter was fantastic, but even for a fine dining establishment the wait between ordering and receiving items was so long we couldn’t leave until 2.5 hours had passed since our reservation time. Food was okay yet pricey - the thai curry was too hot and masked whatever flavor should have been in it, the lamb felt like I was eating a burger patty, and the couscous was dry and had a sharp flavor of an herb - wish it was softer and creamier. At least they no longer ask for a service fee and don’t have tip percentage recommendations. The view was still good from a further away table and valet was $15.

Every experience i’ve had here has been great. The octopus is off the charts - and not on the menu only available per special request but i highly recommend!

Classy ambience. It was the unanimous view of my group that the food, considering the prices, was just ok. Nevertheless the total package makes it a place to go.

                                                                                                                          We had a beautiful window seat! Atmosphere and service was great. The food itself was just alright which for the price doesn’t justify a repeat visit. Next time we would grab a drink and enjoy the bar and get dinner elsewhere.

The food however was rich, oily, and the deserts were way too sugary and uninspired. Overall, if you are looking for a nice atmosphere for dinner and do not care about food quality, and are willing to pay for the views, then Marine Room could be an option for you. But if you are interested in food quality and value for the high priced meal, Marine Room is not the right fit.

                                                                                                                          We celebrated my husband's birthday at the Marine Room and had a fantastic dinner! All of the food (oysters, branzino, tuna) were exceptional and did not disappoint. The noise level was a little loud at first and difficult to hear but it did not subtract from our experience. Our waiter brought us a complimentary piece of cake to celebrate which was very kind. We would love to come back and highly recommend this gem in La Jolla.
