   As usual the staff are wonderful and the vibe is perfect for a relaxing and fun evening out. The linguine with clams was just perfect. My wife got the risotto with seafood which is outstanding every time. We love the Tavern!

   This was our first time visiting the Martinsville Tavern and it won't be our last. The service was wonderful; my husband was having a small family reunion and while our server was very attentive, but we never felt rushed. We all enjoyed our lunch entrees and desserts were excellent as well. We sat on the porch and what a beautiful room and it was set up for a birthday party and if it was my birthday - I would have been very happy!!

   It was our first time in the restaurant and we had a perfect meal. We were celebrating my mother’s 85th birthday and she was very happy with everything. Thanks to the staff for singing to her!

   Food was excellent, and service great-however, the tables are far too close together and we did not enjoy being pushed around by other diners.

   My wife and I eat at Martinsville Tavern often. This night we brought our two boys, a teenager and preteen. The place was packed, typical Saturday night. Even thou we had a reservation it took 20 or more minutes to be seated. This happens. The entrance was full of people waiting. Once seated the waitress took our order. She was polite. The person, who looked to be a manager, filled the water glasses by grabbing the glasses by the top of the rim. This is a turn off since I put my mouth on the rim to drink. In the future grab the glass by the bottom. Our table was next to the main aisle. At some point the waitstaff drop some glasses next to our table. I think the glasses were mostly full of water or melted ice from drinks. I was on the far side of the table, but my families' shoes and ankles got wet. Enough to be an annoyance to be wet while eating. My one son stood up to show me. The staff cleaned up the mess but never acknowledged us. We were never asked if we needed a towel or if we got wet or cut by the broken glass. They did not even want to make eye contact with us. Odd. A few minutes later my younger son noticed there were pieces of glass on his lap. Since he had a napkin on his lap, we used it to dump the glass on floor. No one was cut. We told our server that there was still glass on the floor because if was our son's lap. She apologized and we finished our dinner. We were not looking for a free meal but at no point did management address what happened. It was an unpleasant experience to be wet during dinner and wondering where else could there be glass. Management failed is their duty to address the situation and show proper hospitality. Part of being in food service is hospitality. There is no category for this when I got the OpenTable request for a review.

    The service staff is excellent. They're available to help when needed, but not intrusive. We came with a group of 9 and they were happy to give us individual checks - not every restaurant will do that. It makes our dining experience so much nicer. The food is delicious!
