A friendly eating experience in a very well presented old building with great character and of course very much in the context of the local malt whisky industry.

We have eaten at this restaurant more times than we can recall but was sold so we decided to head back to review it again, the place has had a mini makeover but still holds up the same which was good,a lot of staff members on behind bar but was told if you could just wait till I show you your table at this point we were not offered a drink apart from us only 3 other tables being used and a group of men whisky sampling all other tables reserved but no one else arrived after us . We were shown to our table and given menu then lady returned to take our order it wasn't till this point we were asked if we would like a drink my choice gin and tonic was asked which brand Gordon was my reply also would we like water ,lady returned to inform us no Gordon's so I took lge red wine then another lady came back to ask for a second time would we like water . Are meals arrived I had potted prawns never had these warm before all I can say it was interesting lacked any flavour or spice as described on menu and would not wish to have again plus very hard to eat without a spoon as prawns are floating in liquid in a sml pot , partners starter was very good lge portion and highlight of the meal ,mains a steak this could along with everything else done with being served hotter or at least plates a lot hotter rather than just warm .we decided to have pudding which for me was ok , crumble again served in sml pot so overflowing on to napkin when spoon put in . We at no point where offered another drink all the way through 3 courses ,we did notice no locals at the bar as this has always been the case so not sure if they have moved on from this type of customers which is a shame. Also very surprised that staff ate their meals at the bar maybe this is the reason they were to busy for offering another drink . We would not return in a hurry as we feel not alot to offer and will have to look for our next go to place we live locally but feelthey need to up their game as visitors aren't always here

This is my 3rd time here within 12 months and having to travel 90 mins to visit, it’s not just “round the corner” The quality of the food and value for money are well worth the time and effort to get there.

Lovely meal for my wives birthday today. No sherry for mother in law but minor setback. Staff excellent, food beautiful, with good choices for Sunday lunchtime. Nicely done up and lovely whisky theme in the heart of the industry. One of our local favourites.

An amazing place in an outstanding location. Unbelievable selection of whisky. The food was exceptional and the Staff excellent especially Laura whose knowledge on all things local & whisky was invaluable. We stayed in the Glenlivet room which was fantastic with great views of the River Spey.
