   Love the atmosphere of old converted house into separate dining rooms. Can’t wait to try the patio in nice weather. Food was fantastic wonderful blend of spices. Will definitely come back

   My first time dining at the Mayors House and the food was lovely. You could tell everything was made in house and was fresh. Great prices for the quality of ingredients as well. The lamb shish was smokey, chard, and delicious! We went with another couple and everyone ordered something different and loved their dishes. All the mezze dips were great (highly suggest asking for extra bread with your order, it goes fast!) The house itself was very fun to dine in and I loved the historical facts on the back of the cocktail list (nice touch). My only complaint would be that sometimes it gets so loud in the house that we had trouble communicating with our waitress. Solid 4/5 we need great food in unconventional spaces. Reminded me of NOLA.    Food was unique, really good and can't wait to go back. Great vibe on the patio. Pretty walk up appeal and overall great ambiance. Service was really good. Prices were reasonable for Dallas.

   I request the corner table by the 2 windows; we were not seated there. I had difficulty understanding the server. Worst of all was the noise level in the next room. I even went upstairs to consider moving. One table from the extremely noisy room moved to the room we were in. I was very disappointed; this was my brother’s 75 birthday celebration. Not the usual Manor House experience.

   The experience at “The Mayor’s House” was a bit different than expected. Not necessarily good or bad… just different. While it was a beautiful evening weather-wise to sit on the visually inviting patios, the loud music quickly made us realize that wasn’t going to be the best option. Going inside, however, didn’t mute the music much. Fortunately it was toned down not too long after. Interior atmosphere of the historic house is great—aside from the music choice / volume. Nice to see the “old” surviving amidst the giant, generic “shipping container looking” apartment buildings going up all over Oak Cliff. Perfect setting for a restaurant. The service was adequate but not above average. Having been to the location in Addison, the service and more calming atmosphere there was more of what I was expecting here. The dress code of some of the staff here seems to be a bit more “relaxed”, too. Now on to the food. It was all excellent tasting with reasonable prices. The food is what raised this from 3-stars to 4+. Kudos for not charging extra for the common credit card payments. Do better with your handheld devices… trying to get the itemized bill, figure out the tip and technology while the waiter stood like a sentry is annoying. As I often mention when dealing with situations like this: what’s wrong with the “old fashioned” yet efficient printed checks / receipts that don’t require the waiter to hover as we fill them out? For me personally I would have preferred a casual but more “refined” feel with incredible service to complement the already fantastic food options… …but maybe I’m just getting old. :)

    Beautiful restaurant and patio area. Service was great and food was good. Subtracted a star due to not being checked in via OpenTable. Received a no show email.
