Classic Irish cuisine from chef Sean Smith in the Kildare countryside.

Sean’s mouth-watering new menu is as always sourced locally with some ingredients even grown on the very grounds of the Cliff at Lyons Estate. Food lovers will enjoy classics such as Roast Rib of Beef, Cherry Valley Duck Breast and Oven Baked Baby Turbot with sides of seasonal vegetables, mini Seafood platters and of course for something a bit sweet, Whiskey & Orange Ice Cream or Chocolate Fondant with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

The Mill restaurant is the heart of Cliff at Lyons, with huge double-height ceilings, warm open fire and windows that open up to a terrace beside the mill race and waterfall. Here, you will find a relaxed style of dining where it is easy to enjoy a lunch or dinner with friends or family. The illuminated waterfall provides a unique back drop to this airy and spacious room.

The perfect romantic dinner spot! The food was incredible I highly recommend the monkfish and venison, portions are on the smaller side so would definitely get a side. Service was really good thanks to the staff at the mill restaurant for making our valentines so special.

The food was absolutely to die for and the whole experience was lovely! I got the ham hock to start (it was so beautiful and rich) my partner got the chicken terrine (I had to try a little bit and safe to say it was delicious) we both had the duck leg for main. It was delicious, super flavorful and the mash at the bottom soaked up all the jus from the duck, absolutely Devine. We shared a sticky toffee for dessert, and it was super tasty but for me the best but was the candied almonds that came with the ice cream at the bottom. Over all super lovely experience and I can't wait to come back again.

Overall a very good experience. The Yorkshire pudding was dry and difficult to cut into. The Venison haunch was dry and a bit tough - a steak knife should be provided to cut it. It would be nice to see some 0.0 wines on the list

We had had a Rioja in the bar before dinner, we asked for a drier one at dinner and were offered a Chardonnay… the food was excellent but the service was obviously untrained!

The food was faultless but unfortunately the service was not. A bottle of wine that we never had for €57 was added to the bill. I was asked what we would we would both like for desert when my wife was not even at the table. We had a drink after dinner in the bar which I paid for at the bar and was asked by a bartender as we left if 'we would like to pay our bill! All in all it felt like staff were poorly trained which was a shame given how good the food was.
