   The staff were very friendly and attentive. The benches in the beer garden are very uncomfortable metal seats and need some cushions. Food was good, one of the meals we wanted had sold out.

   The fish was deep fried with so much batter and little flesh I could not eat it. The chips were from a frozen packet and had no taste- it was a small meal for $28! The potatoes au gratin were tasteless and over priced. The entree of garlic bread and dip was good. The service and the staff were good as were the wines. Noise level very loud making it difficult to have a conversation.

   We were very much looking forward to going to The Morning Star after its refurbishment and after having to wait some time to secure a table we had high expectations. It was very noisy, but that was largely due to some large groups, so not really a problem. The wait staff were fantastic. My companions both ordered the special which was flounder and at $40 a pop we expected something a bit special. It was the smallest flounder any of us had seen and was tasteless and was slathered in pesto and was accompanied by a small salad. I chose a couple of small plates which were ok, nothing special and another companion had a potato gratin which for 30 bucks was again a bit of a disappointment. Sorry guys we were hoping to use this as our local, I’d pop in for a drink but not a meal. I did have a cocktail which was yummy .

   Perfect place for a night out - meals and staff were great. As locals we are very excited about the newly revamped Morning Star !

   Very busy as had only just re opened. We booked online and were asked to sit outside on a cold night. We refused and were given 60 min at a table. All very rushed and may try again in a few months. Scotch Egg was a hit.

    Excellent experience after the reopening of the Morning Star. The place was buzzing - great to see. Food was excellent, our local, we’ll be back for sure!
