Truly exceptional across the board. Did a great job accomodating my gluten-free diet with their holiday tasting dinner. Great wine pairings with a wonderful sommelier.

Possibly the worst fine dining experiences I’ve ever had. Having dined at the restaurant in 2016 I was looking forward to returning to spend a lovely evening with friends. Unfortunately, the dinner turned into an utter disaster. The food from start to finish was below any standard, let along for a one-star Michelin establishment. Amuse bouche was underwhelming with the crust overpowering the overall taste. The second course - two pieces of leak was not well balanced with the leak dominating the taste with no other flavours come through. The corn bread was cut into big wedges and was dry. Although it was paired with rosemary butter, the quince jam overpowered it. The quail was dry and impossible to eat given served in a bowl and not deboned. The lamb was overcooked and dry and even with the sauce which helped was unimpressive. The only course that actually could have been great was the bison tartare if it wasn’t for the unnecessary aioli and chips (yes chips) - a simply touch to truffle olive oil would have made it the star of the menu. When asked if I can see the chef, I was told she was having dinner at the bar!!!!! The manager who rather than acknowledging the feedback we gave him decided to disagree and said that maybe this establishment is not aimed for fine dining and going for ‘hearty’ earthy flavours of Louisiana. He then "attempted” to fix the situation with a vegan desert and a concoction of drink that looked like it was as mixed with spoilt cream. Furthermore both deserts were absolutely inedible. So all in all, an absolute disgrace for an establishment that wants to mark itself as Michelin fine dining. The situation should definitely be addressed as simply unacceptable and I will address with Michelin as well.

Food is very good, drinks are excellent. Adam, the somm, is exceptional. Overall I can see the potential for an amazing time at dinner, but our experience was just ok. Our server left early in our meal due to feeling sick- totally fine, totally understandable, so glad she got to go home to rest. But…no one picked us up as a table. Adam handled our drinks and checked in on us but no one was overseeing our food coming out in a timely fashion. Two other two tops next to us got seated well after us- one caught up to us, passed us, and had their full tasting menu done before us. The others caught up to us before one of the bussers seemed to finally notice what was going on and tried to speed us up. What should be about a two hour experience took over 3.5 hours. For the price point and a Michelin star experience I expect a more professional, organized experience with a front of house staff equipped to handle something routine like a server leaving. A shame the service put a damper on a fine culinary experience.

It's wonderful to return to a restaurant after many years and find that it is still excellent. Adam at the Musket Room was an incredibly gracious host. He said something that you don't hear in many restaurants in New York when our table was delayed, "We are here to wait on you, not for you to wait on us." He generously bought us some drinks and nibbles to make up for the wait. We were celebrating a birthday and he made the birthday girl feel very special. The breads and spreads were wonderful. I don't know which was better the anchovy butter or the chicken liver mousse and everything looked beautiful. We had the caviar service which was fun and delicious! Also, the Hamachi, the endive salad and the gnocchi. For mains we have the salmon, the Wagyu beef, and the duck. Everything was beautifully presented and gobbled up! We did think the desserts were not as delicious as the rest of the meal. The panna cotta and the vegan cheesecake were more curious than divine, but nice. He sent out the vacherin as a bday surprise and that was EXCELLENT! Totally SOLID meal. We look forward to trying Rafs and coming back to the Musket Room again. We
