   Cozy, only sports tv was behind the bar which is a good thing for us since we couldn’t see it. The other tvs had a fireplace scene running. Very nice.

   It was a lovely Tuesday evening with great food, service and ambiance. In addition there was live good listening music that served as soothing background music that did not interrupt table conversation. This place is a true gem that its loyal clientele hope will leave the downtown area.

   Enjoyed a (work) team dinner at The North Coal on a Thursday night. There were 8 of us and they gave us a table at the back (not quite a private room), but distanced from the bar - this was appreciated. Live music made it a little loud for conversation, but the artist and music genre aligned created a relaxed vibe for the venue. Reagan was our server - friendly, helpful and accommodating to our group. The food portions were generous. Everyone enjoyed their choices. We had three January birthdays and she asked the artist to sing Happy Birthday. Then visited our table with three brownie sundaes (and candle). As a first time guest of this restaurant, it was a delightful experience. And would come back again. Some additional notes: its location makes for easy parking choices. Booking a table was easy through OpenTable. Happy Hour specials (between 5pm and 6pm) was an unexpected and pleasant bonus. Service was top-notch.

    I picked a good night as they had live music Simple Cell made it difficult to have a conversation as I was singing to every song 😉 such a good band. But seriously, the food was good and the ambience made for a very cozy evening Glad I braved the cold
